Christmas 2012: Part Nine
Chapter: Season Three
We’ve arrived at the bloody portion of the story. The rest will not be for the squeamish.
I’m sorry for the post late in the evening but these double/triple comics take a little longer. I love to do them but they take a little longer.
I hope you’re enjoying the arc so far.
I believe in you Brett! You can do this…for the children.
I’m clapping for Brett! It works for fairies, it should work for Santa!
I suggest the Force.
The power of love!
Quick, call Huey Lewis!
Don’t take money. Don’t take fame.
Has Brett not been taught to actually wield Christmas Magic yet? It seems like all of the things he has been utilizing have been rather…passive.
Indeed it is. To answer your question though, Brett has the fundamentals down but there are a lot of things he’s yet to get a grip on (as we’re seeing/will see). I imagine the Mantle being a lot like the Shazam’s Wisdom of Solomon: It’s there guiding him in the background. You may see it’s voice or narrative someday.
So the Krampus knows Mirror Image? Brett needs Dispel Magic, or just to attack enough times to make the images disappear.
If he can survive that long.
Exactly.
Loving this year’s Christmas arc. Can’t wait to see how Brett handles Krampus…
Brett should just rules-lawyer him to death.
This would actually be the best possible ending. xD
You don’t realize how close I came to doing exactly that.
Would make sense. Krampus goes after ‘naughty’ children. Not ‘children’, naughty in particular, and Brett already approved of that child as ‘Nice’ and he -is- Santa, a far more valid judge then an entity that is barely known/exists. In terms of power he might be weaker but his validity is far stronger, and nothing respects authority quite like a stereotypical demon, especially one designed only to punish the wicked (so to speak. Naughty), of course, that would be throwing their other friend under the bridge, come to think of it (I’m absolutely, 100% awful with names.)
This Christmas storyline is crazy! And the pages look like they’re a lot of work. It’s paying off because they look great. -v
As a Krampus fan, I’ve always (where “always” is defined as “since I learned about him 3 years ago on the Venture Brothers) considered him the yin to Santa’s yang; without one there cannot be the other. Without Santa to reward the virtuous children, what meaning is there in punishing the wicked children? And vice versa? Perhaps this arc will culminate in a “we are two sides of the same coin” coming together. I can hope. But I’m enjoying either way!
MOAR BLOOD! BLOOD FOR THE PEPPERMINT GOD!
