Christmas 2012: Part Twelve
Santa’s influence, everyone. <clap>
Can I just tell you how much I want to write an entire comic with Brett and Krampus. Krampus may become a regular member of the group. He’s rolling a character. This is non-negotiable. I think it’s happening.
I have an epilogue set that will tie up some of the loose ends and I think you’ll dig it.
I love the Christmas arcs and I know this year was hit or miss with a lot of you. I’ve seen the emails, tweets, and posts (I’m everywhere kids. I SEE ALL). Well, not everything but I did receive more than one cross email from “long time readers who did not sign up for this kind of story telling”.
For the folks who enjoyed this arc, thank you for reading and the kind words. I know it’s January but once I shall wish you all a very Merry Christmas!
See you on Friday.
This year’s arc was great, and seeing Krampus’ real personality makes me want to see even more of him. Looking forward to seeing what comes next!
You…see ALL? Like…right now?
Yep. I see what you’re doing. I SEE IT.
Sucks to be you, man
I personally really liked it. I actually spent an entire night reading the entire comic about two weeks ago or so, it was a couple strips into this arc already. You’re already at the top of my 12 or so webcomics I read regularly, and on top of that, I decided to try out Dread with my group because of you. Total. Hit. Everyone loves it, can’t wait to play it more! They should pay you for advertising haha.
I really enjoy the arcs. I think i’m a long time reader.
Will it help if its an email π
Really enjoyed it, Brian. Great ending too, and Holly’s gift was sweet. It brought the “Awes” out of me.
Holly only gained ~3″?
Adding Krumpus = awesome
Questions regarding Klaus, is his ability to manifest gone yet? I mean granted the guy doesn’t absolutely leave, but he’s taken full-to-the-hilt hold of other vessels a few times; krumpus (i’d imagine) would be no meager feat whatsoever and he did a halfway mark on that venture before being forcefully removed. I’d personally be taking a break awhile to formulate a plot for a good year or two.
I’m guessing the prior Klaus vessel is being returned to normalcy by the elves, unless Klaus is regressing to it(?).
Next question: Sam has a massive world in the works, will he release it anytime soon or will he be brewing awhile?
Sidenote: Sorry for poor Krumpus… you remember those pains.
Who couldn’t like it? I wish Christmas was at least 1/10th as epic as you make it!
And I agree with Holly. SANTA IS FUCKIN’ AWESOME! (I imagine that being said in the most adorable voice ever)
Loved this year’s arc. Also, if Krampus is going to join the group, maybe Charlie is actually Krampus… yeah, probably not, but it’s a funny idea. =)
Loved it, keep doing what you enjoy and I will keep reading. WTB more Krampus.
Still hearing the Krampus’ as Leonard Nimoy. This only amps the awesome of this comic by 1000%. Story rocked, man. Keep bringing the awesome!
Maybe it’s just me, but Brett’s line in the second panel, “Your horns. Can you? I have them right here.” seems off. I understand it, and it is grammatically sound, but I’m wondering if it was supposed to be a little different.
On another note, don’t mind the haters. Some folks just don’t like character development and there are plenty of other “gag-a day” comics out there for them.
It works fine for me. Spoken English and written English are almost two different languages; Brett’s lines look to me like the sort of things people really SAY, and not what gets written down. I’m imagining it as something like. “Your, uh, horns. *pause* Um, can you … *trails off, because finishing it with “glue them back on or something” sounds too dumb to actually finish saying* *trying to be helpful, just in case it wasn’t a dumb idea* I have them right here.”
Krampus playing Dnd… I am going to find a djinn, and makes this happen. It must happen.
Dude this arc was great, the comic in general is great, I found it a while back thanks to Hijinks Ensue and it’s one of my favorite comics. People are always going to get pissy and stop reading your comic you make for free because they feel that by reading your free comic that costs them nothing you somehow owe them. They are wrong, they are few, and they don’t really matter. Most will keep reading it anyway because, let’s be honest, geeks love to complain about things and then keep watching/playing/reading anyway. Personally, I think a mixture of arcs and gag comics is the best way to do a webcomic, so keep up the good work. Also, I wouldn’t mind more of the Lovecraft (I cannot for the life of me remember the name of the group and I am too lazy to look it up), because that shit was sweeeeet.
Amazing stuff, Brian! Man am I ever glad I found your comic, my online life would have been poorer without it! Thank-you, and have a great 2013 and beyond.
I just want to say, I would 100% stand behind keeping Krampus on as a full-time recurring character! π
Yes. Krampus.
Do it. Do iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit.
Well, I enjoyed this little story, even with my bit of confusion at the start (Krampus wouldn’t be attacking Santa/good kids, what’s going on…oh, it’s Klaus possessing Krampus!) This unpossesed Krampus just feels right, just enough irritation at the situation (I mean, possession, a big fight, and getting your horns ripped off? Yeah, I’d be angry too) but also really understanding, all things considered.
I look forward to whatever comes next.
You know what? Fuck the haters.
So, her present is getting a kiss from Sam? I’m confused at that.
But yeah, it was a cool arc. And always neat to see the introduction of a memorable character. I can see Krampus as kind of a semi-foil for Brett’s BS.
Krampus should stay.
Long time reader, first time commenting. This arc ROCKS! Keep up the good work dude.
So mythic beingso, talking cats, and d and d, not exactly a usual combination but you do it well
