Chapter: Season Four
Sorry for the late post today but last night I decided to relax a bit and catch Pacific Rim. I loved it.
Now, on to a weekend of packing Kickstarter orders.

Oh Emma…i have no doubt that one day, you’ll kill us all.
I’m not a big cinema fan but Pacific Rim looks awesome! I also want to see the Sharknado film that’s started on Syfy, I love Roger Corman style B-Movie films like that 🙂
ARGH SPOILERS!
I’m seriously bummed that I won’t be able to see this movie till next weekend, probably, since I have to wait till I’m back in my hometown to see it with my best friend who is all ZOMG KAIJU more than me (which is pretty ZOMG). This is especially painful because I’m designing a kaiju card game at the moment, so Pacific Rim is relevant to my interests. Also the cast, and the writer/director/producer, and they need to shut up and take my money.
Oh man, it’s out? Hells yes! That’d be my Sunday planned then, Man of Steel and Pacific Rim.
Mine too!
Ended up not being able to wait til Sunday, took a few of my gaming group to see Pacific Rim before tonight’s Shattered Star game. Words… fail me. I can’t even begin to describe how much I enjoyed it.
Honestly, I felt like a child watching any one of my favourite robot anime for the first time. It was glorious.
There’s only one Jaeger that can counter this threat! Activate CATNIP YARN!
What’s funny is that 5 years ago, the True20 RPG had a campaign setting called “Mecha vs. Kaiju”.
While this is indeed much awesome, it doesn’t surprise me when I think about it. I once saw a campaign book involving cowboys riding dinosaurs (with laser guns, if I remember right), and another one that was based on the movie Ghost Dog: Way of the Samurai. I doubt there’s any scenario in existence that hasn’t been made into a campaign setting, especially where Rifts or Gamma World might be involved. That said, I’m now curious if there’s settings out there for various movies….
Scene from The Big Lebowski RPG
Mel: Okay, I’m picking up my ball, rolling it *rolls dice, ironically* 14.
Sam: Another strike! One more for a perfect game and 2,000 bucks!
Mel: Yes!
Brett: I pull out a joint to smoke.
Trevor: You’re going to smoke that here? Now?
Brett: Why the hell not? Everybody’s hip here, right?
Sam: Sure, everybody except the two cops that walked in a minute ago. Make a reflex save, by the way. Charlie, Spot check.
Brett: Grrrrraggumfraggum *rolls* 8.
Charlie: *pushes button* 5.
Sam: *rolls* One of the cops spots you before you can hide the joint, and now they’re both approaching you at an even pace. Anyone with contraband will most likely get picked up.
Trevor: My guy’s on parole! I am NOT going back to jail!
Mel: If we get arrested before I get my prize money, I’m gonna kick your ass, Brett!
Brett: Don’t get ’em in a twist, I’ll just tell ’em I roll my own cigs, I got a 15 bluff!
Charlie: Too bad my cop’s got a 20 in Sense Motive.
Brett: Sonuva…!!
Sweet…
… I’d play that. I really would.
I’d play it. But only if the GM can do a good enough Sam Elliott impression.
Emma you are such a bitch.
but i loves her
Saw it on Thursday. Posting this on Sunday. STILL can remember every scene of that film with crystal clarity. It’s not complex. It’s not deep. But it is REALLY well done and REALLY, REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEALLY awesome. Go see it.
Watched it on Sunday(today!)!
PURE. AWESOME.
Sometimes i’m convinced this is what my eldest bunny Dougall dreams about….WORLD DOMINATION (although my younger and fatter bunny Manny just dreams of a world with more carrots…)
And yes, Dougall is named after Father Dougall Maguire from Father Ted, and Manny is named after Manny from Black Books….i’m addicted to British comedies!
YOU MAGNIFICENT BASTARD! i’m readign this in 2020 and *slow clap* well done (not exsplainign for those who are reading this for the first time)
