Vault of Deknar: Part Fifteen
Chapter: Season Seven
Sorry for the delayed comic, everyone. I am suffering from Con Crud. Thanks for your patience.
Have you seen the Kickstarter for the Dresden Files Cooperative Card Game from Evil Hat Productions? If not, I recommend checking it out for a lot of reasons but on the personal side of things, I am the artist on the Sentinels of the Multiverse stretch goal. That’s right, if it funds I will be drawing Ra the Sun God in the Dresden Files universe. That checks off a lot of personal professional bucket list items for me and I would love to do it. Check it out RIGHT HERE.
HT: She was TOTALLY fucking with Sam. No traps in the chamber. Old school.
The doors are trapped, though.
Nah, bro. No traps until the final room.
Where there will be ALL of the traps.
Even Bridget from Guilty Gears?
Is it just me or do the doors look a lot like the talking head from Night at the Museum? Dum Dum bring Gum Gum?
First, congrats on the DFCO KS! I was super stoked to see your art pop up in the announcement.
Second, were there no traps? Or did Sam’s character just not trigger them? I have had GMs lull us into complacency that way. The rogue takes all the precautions, and the precautions successfully avoid the traps. The paladin takes none of the precautions, and the trap is triggered. Ta da!
And the world may never know… Which is why the goal is to keep’em clenched like 25% at a minimum at all times.
Nice callback to Brett’s identical declaration.
The room is not trapped but the doors are fake and just waiting to fall on someone…
Two strips and one week ago: “Sometimes the most excruciating thing a a DM can do is NOT have a trap where one is expected….the party is ALWAYS waiting for the other shoe to drop….”
BOOM!
The term we were thinking of last comic was “Flop Sweat” poor sam was sweating buckets of it.
Only thing more satisfying than a TPK is a Total Player Clinch.
I was still a little on the fence about backing the DFCO (their acronym, not mine), but if you’re part of a stretch goal, they can definitely have my money.
And I just realised that Jeanie’s character in the last game was a Forgehand of Deknar, and that’s now where they are.
