There’s Always Room
Gasp and recoil all you like, I think Charlie raises a valid question.
This weekend I had the pleasure of playing in the Diablo 3 open beta weekend and I am happy to report that if you love the series, you will not be disappointed. The graphics are tight, the sound is incredible, and all of the iconic Diablo beats are there. Within moments of creating Bartleby the Wizard, I was playing as if I’d never stepped away from Diablo 2. I am of the mindset that sequels should feel similar and Diablo 3 delivers. I will save a big review for the launch but I just want to say, I was already excited to play but this weekend sealed the deal. I will lay down the cash for my pre-order and pace the floors until May 15th.
I would also like to take a moment to thank everyone who orders merchandise from my online store, clicks an ad banner, Stumbles, Reddits, or Pins a comic or mentions d20monkey online. It is very easy for folks to get lost in the shuffle of hectic schedules and I just want you to know that I keep every nice piece of fan mail, fan art, or blog post. Without all of you, my dream of doing this full-time would be impossible and thanks to you, every day I get a little bit closer.
Thank you.
Commenters: Is there a series or game franchise that you love and cannot live without?
I’m really happy to have the SSX franchise back. I’ve been dumping many hours into that recently.
Damn auto-correct!!
as for your discussion topic, I enjoy the elder scroll series much more than i probably should.
but more importantly, is charlie sporting some new stubble or have I just missed it thus far?
He’s had the stubble for a little while now but with this comic I darkened it up a bit.
Very astute comic sir, and I agree entirely on D3, its like D1 and D2 never ended, just got improved graphics.
Tom Clancy games are my dirty pleasure I own so many and if i ever find one I don’t own I immediately snatch it up. I don’t know what it is I’m not a fan of tom clancy himself or his books ( though i do read them on occasion) and i’m not a hardcore military fanatic I don’t know what it is the games just feel right in my hands also its maybe that they share a connected continuity completely unparalleled especially in recent Tom Clancy games.
Miss me some Wing Commander.
D3 weekend was great, yeah. I would love for someone to make a really good sequel to Master of Orion 1 & 2. 3 was meh. Galactic Civilizations was advertised as the spiritual successor, and it was a fine game, but it wasn’t magic like MOO2. Shut up and take my money!
I loved Master of Orion 1! 2 was super fun as well.
MoO 3 I only played when I was out of razor blades and felt like punishing myself. I’d like a revamp similar to the first two.
Its Diablo for me. I cannot wait for D3 to launch. I was so upset that they announced this open beta for this weekend, merely two days after I’d made plans to be far away from my computer all weekend. But, I’ll be right there with you pacing the floor for the launch
For me it is pretty much anything Bethesda puts out. I have not been disappointed. Skyrim, Fallout, Oblivion, etc, etc, etc.
There are rumors of a console version of D3. How well do you think it will translate?
The Ultima series… but sadly we all know how that ended.
It occurred to me that I did not throw my favorites in there. I love the Resident Evil series (when it was still zombies) and the Metal Gear Solid series. Truth told, there are so many GREAT series out there, I consider myself lucky to be a gamer.
Easily the Left 4 Dead series. I’m hoping they at least pull off a third in the series. Killing zombies is easily my stress reliever and just so damn addicting.
My first thought went to the gelatinous cube gangbang, which I imagine might look like an unfolded tesseract.
The franchise I’m most exited about returning is Xcom. I sucked at the first couple games due to poor skills and bad luck, but they were so much fun.
What would Bill Cosby say?
Probably the Mass Effect franchise. Recent controversies aside, it’s still the best Sci-fi experience I’ve ever had… except maybe certain episodes of Firefly.
Baldur’s Gate series. Love the hell out of them
Absolutely! I can’t wait for the new iPad version this summer!
7th Sea!
The X-Wing/Tie Fighter games are still, IMO, the best space combat sims ever, and probably the best Star Wars games ever. Everything else is too far outside the core star wars story.
More recently, the Batman: Arkham Asylum and Batman: Arkham City games have blown my mind. Far and away winners of my personal vote for most enjoyable games ever.
ok,, about the question charlie raise,, its a non question since first off gelatinous cube,, beeing oozes dont even have an inteligence score, its a nonstat for them,, second they reproduce by partogenesis,, wich mean that once they are big enough they split in two
P.S. – It’s a joke.

*flips internet*
I think you mean PARTHENOGENESIS, not parthogenesis. The former is the development of an embryo without fertilization. The latter isn’t an actual word. However, parthenogensis requires an egg cell to develop into an embryo and we have no references to embryonic gelatanous cubes in the literature, to my knowledge. It is thus more likely that oozes would reproduce using binary fission, fragmentation, budding, or even sporogenesis given the frequent description of them as oversized amoeba. I am not, of course, saying its impossible for them to be multicellular, but they seem to lack cellular differentiation of any kind and are often described as giant amoebas. Now, I can’t categorically say that parthenogenesis is impossible, but I can say that humor impairment is an illness and you don’t have to live this way. You can be helped.
+1 on the TIE fighter/x-wing games. Those were some of my favorite of all time! I wish somebody would update the graphics on those.
Absolutely, I sunk so many hours into those games. They were great.
It looks like he’s spitting before he is asked the question.
I agree, in hindsight. Chalk it up to my failings as an artist.
