The Well-known Beast
Chapter: Comics, Season Five
The new arc begins today with a subject I think most of us know all too well.
I remember the days of playing D&D nearly every weekday after school. The dice and generic fruit punch flowed like wine in those days. Ah, youth. Actually, ah lack of financial responsibility…
The Karthun: Lands of Conflict Kickstarter is in it’s final hours and dangerously close to the poster map stretch goal.
Hover-Text: The beast in it’s true form is referred to in hushed whispers as Adul’thood and gibbers curses such as “mandatory overtime” and “did you get a sitter?”
I really wish I’d started gaming when I was a kid. Although that would probably require… you know… friends, something I severely lacked after we moved.
And now if I’m honest with myself.
Adulthood is an epic CR 55 encounter. Insanity is your best armor.
Actually insanity is the best easily gotten armor. The best armor is massive amounts of money so you don’t have to work and can just go ahead and pay people to play Tabletop games with you.
But that’s just really the upgrade to insanity. Then it becomes eccentricity.
Stupid adulthood.
Hate being grown up.

I didn’t make but it’s a fun song. However, do not watch the documentary it was written for if you are easily depressed.
Special abilities include soul sucking, mental diminishment, increased apathy and the all-encompassing shadow of Responsibilities.
Wow. What was meant to be a light-hearted dig at life, makes me feel sad now 🙁
probably cause its true
Ouch, this one hurt real bad. But I wouldn’t have it any other way. About time someone tackled this topic head on in the world of adult “geekdom”. Looking forward to see this unfold in the coming weeks…
I’m working on a spell for this.
When you figure that out tell me. Until then, I guess its back to product testing.
Yeah, and I’m facing it as the guy who runs a D&D for Kids monthly game at the FLGS. Getting the adults to agree on a time to bring the kids is a bear as well.
OH yay! This will surely be a fun romp far away the lead truths of reality!
Oh gosh darn it! I want to support you! But I got no credit card…Still no paypal possibility in sight?
PayPal is available!

I remember when Jolt Cola used to be the mainstay of every gamer too…..
Also my involvement with adulthood is getting shot, stabbed and blown up with a disability check saying,”Thank you for playing”……..
Haha I finally managed to tame the beast. One weekly (ish) game with old friends, one every two weeks with friends on the forum of a sleepover party for the (8) kids. And recently, my 8 told and 4 y old have convinced me to check out hero kid. So they can play too.
And for the record my significant other plays most of them too (we even have a matching dice set), also have 4 kids and one in production.
Harsh evil monster. All I’ve got these days are super slow email games and we dont even have time to be doing that lately. Even the guys in the 3rd Gamers movie are crippled by this monster. Sometimes i wonder if its adulthood or the times were in cuz noone seems to have time these days. Probably both…
Ah, the age-old problem facing gamers. As adults, not enough time to play. As kids, not enough money to afford all the books/dice/minis/etc.
I now have a full library of gaming books and other materials, yet I fear many of them will never see use in my lifetime.
Wow, I had forgotten what Bret looked like. XD
