Hehe they can’t help themselves, it’s like there are about to pop with his secret. I love panel two, I really want to know how you did that blur effect.
Having actually seen the Captain & Tennille as their showed aired in the 70s, I can tell you with firm authority, that the Captain is either the one that talks the least OR the one that secretly does solos on his Casio Keyboard really late at night.
A lot of our language is not actually intentional, but incidental. We’re as much pointing to show others as we are as a reflex to directing attention. The fact that he understands is because of both the reference and, quite possibly, because he can hear the direction of the voice as a gesture (due to volume).
Deaf people can have some pretty impressive senses and can generally glean the information we’re putting out regardless of form.
I’d probably be squeeing every time I heard his voice. And asking him to say words/quote the books… I’m not bad with secrets, but I’m also an intense fangirl. (actually, if I didn’t know him then I’d just be squeeing in a corner)
All social interaction checks that fail are amazing. I was trying diplomacy on another character (new party we hadn’t built any social ties yet). I ended up with a -9. Basically my diplomacy was so horrible I convinced her to do the exact opposite of what I wanted.
LOL. Failed bluff checks are always hilarious in a game. Made bluff checks are even more outrageous, though.
on my first bard(the one that had ranks in mime, spoken word, etc), i made a point of RPing EVERY bluff check.
i developed a grand capacity for improv.

Uh…why is he pointing? His friend can’t see…I feel bad because I’ve read all of them and don’t remember names…

Sam’s just pointing out of habit, that’s all. Like a lot of folks he tends to talk with his hands regardless of the situation.
Is anyone really surprised? XD He hasn’t kept something vaguely resembling a secret through most of the comic.
I forget, have we seen what Mel does? I remember the others, and we now know Charlie, but I don’t remember hers….

Failed checks make the game fun.
