Brett’s got a fear of dice-less games, Jeanie knows this, she’s not going to be mad at him over it.
I don’t think so, I mean I get that it’s an irrational fear, but he plays roleplaying games.
There are more out there than just ones with dice, and doing that to someone that is obviously extremely new and nervous is not only rude, but it hinders the one thing GMs try to do: Create more GMs so they don’t have to run all the time.
Yeah I agree, I’m pretty sure Jeanie will at least ask Brett to apologize for overreacting.
All of you assume that Brett’s reaction was voluntary and intentional.
It may not have been either voluntary or intentional but given the fact that his bitching about only playing the games the old way has been brought up several times in the past and he has been forced to recognize that he was being a bitch about it, you can’t really justify his reaction there. He knows he’s in the wrong and that he should work on his attitude there.
Being a spoiled baby is not an excuse for acting like one.
Bretts reaction was to be entirely expected. Indeed might I remind you of his reaction regarding the whole Kathrun setting when it was still new?
They could have lessened it, by forewarning him. Giving him time to come to terms with giving it a shoot. But he choose to pull this instead.

Really not sure what is going on here. Dude made what was obviously a joke, then apologized profusely when he saw that it hurt his friend’s feelings.
But he’s somehow a complete shitbag because of something he had no possible way of knowing? (That Carlos’ father was abusive).

I don’t think anyone is saying Trevor is a shitbag… You’re right, he realized he screwed up and apologized, but it’s clear he, and the rest of the group didn’t see how hard what he said hit Carlos.
And, again…you’re right. I don’t see anyway Trev could have known making a comment about ruining Christmas would have triggered him. That’s the thing about triggers that sucks.
I think at this point, both the group (having not realized the whole of what’s happened) and us the audience are having more of a “ooooooo!, Trevor got called to the principle’s office” moment.
I have no doubt the group, if they knew what was going on at the bus stop, would be there in a heartbeat trying to make him feel better.
At the very least, Trev’s going to get an earful from his best friend about sometimes the best thing to say in a situation is mot a bless’d thing. Though in reality it’ll be Jeanie asking why he’s never learned to shut his f****** trap.
I don’t know why but the image of Sam and Charlie trying to run after someone down the street considering Sam’s cane and Charlie’s being blind is pretty funny. “Can’t you go any faster?” “No Jackass I’m blind, if you wanted quick you should’ve brought along Elton John back there!”

Has Brett every GM’d? Because at this point I’d like to see him sack up and run something if he’s going to treat people like this.
Not that he hasn’t improved at all, because he’s leagues better than he used to be, but stuff like this still boggles my mind in terms of him having fits when the games not to expectations.
I remember him having GM’d, at least Sam said he had but apparently it was for like, new players? And there was a flashback where he declared that someone’s character was now buried under a pile of flaming troll dicks.

Brett started what Trevor finished. Yes, Trevor’s comment was the worse part but Brett being shocked and staying silent was what made Carlos feel insecure in the first place. Brett has had to deal with games not being the way he wants in the past and he shouldn’t be this shocked after all this time.
Y’all are treating him like he’s a kid with no self-control when he’s a grown ass adult who should be able to handle himself. Especially over something that has been brought up in the past as a problem.
That said I’m willing to admit that “shocked silence” is an improvement over his previous “will bitch for the entire game until threatened” ways. It’s still a flagrant overreaction.

First time commenting, love your work! True, I most enjoy the gaming arcs, but keep doing what you do best. I’ve failed so many saves vs feels since I started reading your comic. Can’t wait to see how Sam handles this relationship with his brother, and I want to see Carlos behind the screen. Basically, love this comic strip, and I wish you didn’t suffer from human needs like hunger, sleep, personal life, etc. Can’t get enough!
