Oh Snap!
Chapter: Season Ten
Mama Bear isn’t going down without a fight.
Announcement: I have implemented the new option on Patreon for Annual Subscriptions. This allows patrons to make a one-time payment to receive access to the reward tier of their choosing. Selecting the annual subscription option takes the stress of month-to-month bookkeeping out of the equation and allows me to provide a 12% discount on the subscription. It is a neat feature, and as always, any support is appreciated whether it be sharing the comic with friends, social media, month-to-month on Patreon, annual subscriptions, or one-time donations via PayPalÂ
Thank you so much. Have a nice weekend.
Awww yeeeah….
Yes! Go Jeanie!!!
Also, just gotta say, as an artist who struggles to draw hands, the panel with Emma spotting the stake in Jeanie’s hand, that is a nice drawn hand!!
Thankfully not as tough a cliffhanger like last week! Although I assume the rest of the year is going to be similarly paced 😛
Only until October!
Here’s my best guesses and observations…
– The beatdowns may be on Brett and Jeanie but that’s because they’re the obvious heavy hitters of the group. But it’s all about Sam. Clive isn’t at the Dragon’s Den near Sam, he’s at the Game Haus blocks away… and sent Olgon and Urlson to get Brett and Jeanie, away from Sam.
– I think Talbot is a lot older than he looks. A couple pages back he said “Run children, Run!”. We’ve determined before that the players here are all adults with careers of their own. So perspective to consider the group children… likely means he’s older and therefore possibly tougher than he looks. (Or he’s just a wizard and he’s telling the normals to get out of the way).
– Trevor’s been down for a while and Officer Clark has been heading in the direction of the ruckus… the Game Haus exploding may get her attention first because exploding buildings tend to do that.
– And whatever Emma is, Jeanie knows she’s a heavy hitter of her own. Before Jeanie got taken out, she told Talbot to “keep everyone safe and get Emma down here”. So she figured that Emma’s a better offensive backup than Talbot and in the weight class or better than Olgon and Urlson.
– Jeanie telling Talbot to get Emma meant that she knows what Emma is. Not just that she’s powerful, but that she’s there to protect Sam. Which means she knows Sam still has the Narrative. And so does Talbot as he told Sam he could end this. I figure they both know since they’re both magical figures (which Jeanie wasn’t when she last asked Sam to use the Narrative). So if they know, so does Clive… which gets back to my first point… whatever Clive is, he knows Sam can fuck his shit up if Sam gets it in gear.
– Last one’s pure theory… Sam controls the Narrative, right? But he’s at his best when he’s doing collaborative storytelling with the group. What if their describing their actions amplifies his Narrative? It’s supposed to be super powerful box text if I understand it right. What would happen if after Sam gets going Jeanie were to say “I’m injured but I’m not down yet, I catch a second wind and swing with all I’ve got”?
…. that theory of yours is pure awesome. If nothing else, it would play right into the whole “GameMaster / Player” synergy, and yes, I suspect it would reinforce the strength of Sam’s use of the Narrative.
I know olgin is the bad guy buy I felt that
You know, I’ve never had the pleasure of having a kneecap popped out of place, and I do believe Olgon and I won’t be having that in common once the next page drops.
I did, not much of a pleasure to be honest.
In Dead by Daylight, we call that the good ol’ Decisive Strike.
Where is Butt Rubbins and his healing touches when you need them?
Oooooooo radical action but sympathetic knee pain! I’m conflicted lol
In the spirit of a big finale + using tons of foreshadowing from previous strips we thought was just a joke….I just want to remind everyone that our dear Sam owns an actual LIGHTSABER.
Truly the perfect woman. Battered and bloodied she lashes out perhaps for the last time to cripple her assailant.
Holy Nuts! This Plot is going like Juggernaugt!
I was a bad-ass minion working for a magical douchebag, but then I took a shot to the knee….
lol
ooo, that’s gotta sting a bit…
(Still not quite as painful as stepping on one of those dropped d4s though! Does the Dragon’s Den sell Lego at all?)
Good to see that, even after all that damage, Jeanie still understands what’s at stake.
Ba dum BUM!
*insert Audience Groans*
well done
