Karthunmas Art Preview: Final
Chapter: Season Seven
Tomorrow I complete the final piece of art for Karthun. Today, I present three previews (the last one) to close out Karthunmas:
The Spike – One of the monoliths of Karthun
The Laws of Ten – An artifact that survived the destruction of the gnome homelands
The First Tree – Semi-sentient tree of legend and holy site of Sehad.
See you next week for the new season of d20Monkey.
Just out of curiosity, what is the final piece of art for Karthun?
The Nexus. Home of Prathian and headquarters of the Sentinels of the Book!
Also a likely place to encounter a Star Sage, I assume. Sounds like it will be another impressive piece of art!
Rough idea on when Karthun might be ready?
PDF should be ready by end of next week and then it goes to the printer. That takes a while (big book, many pages, shipping, etc.) so early Q2 is the target date, which I believe is late March/early April. I’ll update as I know more.
Very cool!
Anywhere I can pre order the print book? Or where will it be sold?
Wonderful artwork Brian! Can’t wait to see more of this amazing world-building!
Suddenly imagining the comic is going to be Brett re-enacting the opening of Wings of Liberty.
Brian, do/will players know more about the Laws of Ten from the book?
From the book:
The gnomes that escaped the destruction found themselves stranded as refugees on the Last Continent. Among these refugees was the sitting President of the Six Regions and two of her surviving Senators, along with the cherished Laws of Ten, a tome detailing the gnomes’ history since their arrival on Karthun and their intricate system of laws and social infrastructure.
My plan is to give the Laws of Ten more detail in future material. For now, think of it as a history/Constitution for the gnomes of Karthun.
Sorry, the tiny Nick Cage voice in my head shouted while reading this that there’s definitely a treasure map in it and we need to steal it.
After laughing out loud at this, my first thought was, “Yes there is, unfortunately the map leads to a treasure buried on some other continent that isn’t there any more.” 🙁
Nic Cage has a question about Karthun.
you know a funny thought struck me. As a GM I have always run my games in seasons rather than campaigns. and now you will be running a gamer centric comic in seasons. This amuses me greatly.
I must say Im a huge fan, but the kickstarter eluded me but I very much plan to buy the book as soon as its released.
I know you make quality content and cant wait to run some of it myself.
Take your time, I know I will enjoy it, especially with the wait
Keep up the amazing work!
