As a long time lurker, I always felt bad when you gave the “People are giving me shit”-descriptors, I know I can say nothing to soothe that, so I will just keep it short, sweet and gushing with admiration.

This is an old trick Brian… DM realizes he gave an overpowered item to a PC and finds a way to remove it while maintaining the epicness in the campaign 😉

I’m wondering which vessel is broken her or the mace? Will the power and voices go into the officer or maybe into her nightstick ?
Better get the Tool of the Old Ones ready (AKA the paper shredder). I’ve had mine claim many a PC, but always the Cthulhu games.
If we were LUCKY, it would be a TPK. If we weren’t, they’d end up just like Violet, ticking time bombs ready to go off.
The worst part is, I’d play in another campaign if someone asked me to, knowing what would happen.
