That shit was awesome! Give me the Superheros RPG where i can have the good ol’ fashioned crazy characters with the horrible violence because that shit is my jam!
I never expected him to grow up enough to eat crow like that. I thought no matter how much he got spanked his head would remain firmly lodged up his own ass and he’d never realize, much less admit, that he was wrong in any way.
I wonder if it had something to do with getting involved in that mystical business with the Mantlebearers and realizing just how insignificant and out of his league he really was. Though I’m not sure Dove was as deep as Lee was, and even Lee didn’t know all of it.
I love it. And I love where the other characters are going with their lives so far. I can feel the ride of these late night posts, of just the need to get to where you need to go, Brian. It’s awesome. I’m glad we get to be a part of this. To see where it all goes.
Query: Have we seen “Jules in Accounting” before? I don’t remember her… But there’s a LOT of characters we’ve seen come through these pages the last ten years.
Glad you’ve gotten to this point, also, Brian! You should be super-proud of this achievement. I’m proud of you. π
Hmmm… Noticing a bit of yellow to the narrating… Is he describing what’s happened? Or is he creating it? Or both, given the fluid nature of the Narrative and reality?
I don’t think so. If you look back at the previous page, both Sam and Lee have “normal” dialogue bubbles *and* “gold-bordered” dialogue bubbles. Looks like it’s more of a contrast-with-background situation.
Poor Phillip. Nothing worse to someone lime him than seeing someone else succeed. He’s going to live a long, useless life, wondering why success and fame never offered to give him smoochies, how unfair it is, etc. He will die bitter and alone.
I’m not sure I’ve ever experienced a sense of satisfying closure from a web comic before.
Brian, you did an amazing job tying together years of threads and character development in just a few short months. I hope you are happy with your 10 (and a bit) year magnum opus. I can’t wait to see what you have in mind for the IGS comic!
So. . . since Sam is finally seeking professional help, I have to ask. . .
Is there specialized counselling for those of us who suffer trauma, or have mental health issues, AND have had close encounters with the Fey, the other world, the other side, or other supernatural entities?
I could not ask for a better karmic drop-kick for Dove then this, well done. I’m glad things are going so well for Carlos, and Darlene is doing great. Also, that mantles book design? So good. I’m a sucker for a nice dark hardbound with gold-embossed shiney-ness.
I need to fix a few typos. I am just very tired so, Friday morning.
Asking for a friend… is the Mantles RPG a thing that is or will be in existence?
Yes. This.
I still want Andromeda X I know you said it was the least liked arc but I loved it
WHO THE FUCK DISLIKED ANDROMEDA X!?!?
That shit was awesome! Give me the Superheros RPG where i can have the good ol’ fashioned crazy characters with the horrible violence because that shit is my jam!
…. Also yes, Mantles, RPG, God Yes
My guess it was because of the Fate Deck instead of using the Fudge Dice; some folks are cranky that way. π
it is up against some totally off the scale competition…
Honestly, this is a more satisfying fate for dove than if he had been squished by an ogre any day.
He probably wishes he had been squished. I also bet his group will be razzing him so very hard because of all he’s done in the past to her.
Living well is the best revenge.
I never expected him to grow up enough to eat crow like that. I thought no matter how much he got spanked his head would remain firmly lodged up his own ass and he’d never realize, much less admit, that he was wrong in any way.
Good for him!
I wonder if it had something to do with getting involved in that mystical business with the Mantlebearers and realizing just how insignificant and out of his league he really was. Though I’m not sure Dove was as deep as Lee was, and even Lee didn’t know all of it.
Good on you, Sam! (Does this therapist have prior experience with the magic world? Maybe we’ll find out tomorrow!)
I bet it’s Larry.
It looks like a therapist office, To me. Larry could be the therapist though.
G’ah! I just realized, I basically repeated the 2 previous comments. My defense is, it’s late.
I’d like to know-is that Gandalf brand Iced Tea on the table? With Gandalf the White drinking it with his pinky raised?
Or maybe the DM Therapist is back… π

I’m kind of hoping it’s this.
We see Sam geting the help he needs to take care of his own health long term, and we get a call back to Iddy the Lich.
HA! Doves bit made me lol
I kind of got hospital room vibes myself. My first thought that he was talking to Amy while she recovdered from childbirth (theirs, duh).
But there have been several nudges to get Sam into therapy, so this makes a lot more sense
It seems like, tonight, Dove is eating crow.
I love it. And I love where the other characters are going with their lives so far. I can feel the ride of these late night posts, of just the need to get to where you need to go, Brian. It’s awesome. I’m glad we get to be a part of this. To see where it all goes.
Why am I not surprised that Dove would end up sporting the porn-stache?
Hmmmm. It is meant to be a terrible attempt at a fake ‘stache on Dove. I may need to add a string to make it really ridiculous.
It works either way, Brian. π
But yes, now that I look at it, it’s both off-center AND the wrong hair color. I was just so amused I missed those details.
I picked up on the fake stache pretty quickly. You did well.

We have not see Jules before. Some things like this I leave to the reader’s imagination.
Hey B would You be offended if i inquired about Jules gender?
That’s the cool part. It doesn’t really matter. Schrodinger’s Gender.
Hold on a second, I don’t normally read the page descriptions. What is this about “series epilogues”!?
Oooh… Um. Have some bad news.
Hmmm… Noticing a bit of yellow to the narrating… Is he describing what’s happened? Or is he creating it? Or both, given the fluid nature of the Narrative and reality?

Damn. This is so sweet on so many levels. I love this. And I am afraid of what will happen next :,)
Dallas has learned that the best revenge is to live well.
Eat that crow, Dove!
Question, have we met Jules before? I wonder what they’re like.
Philip Dove looks like a broken man.
About GODDAM time.

Asking for a friend.
But seriously, if you need help, seek help.
I don’t know if there are such therapists, but there’s a damn good Netflix series to be had there.

“You hear chains…” – Love, Darlene.
^How I imagine Dove’s inscription reads.
He’s talking to a terapist
Wow, dude, where are you going to go from here?
Very sorry we donΓ’β¬β’t get to see it, but I am so glad Andromeda-X is still going.
I would have liked to have heard about how Darlene and Josie get on, but since Darlene is a regular in IGS will we see more of Josie there?
Speaking of Dove, I was flicking back through.
Compare Dove in the last panel in https://d20monkey.com/comic/shown-the-door/ to Doubt at the bottom in https://d20monkey.com/comic/at-the-bottom/
Freaky…
Oh, come on. Dove wouldn’t have done it like that. He would obviously have sent an underling or possibly a hooker to do it.
