Custodian
Chapter: Season Three
Hell yeah Charlie is playing a drone not originally written into the module.
We’ve all been there, you start the adventure and through a series of unfortunate circumstances, a player character dies suddenly and is left there to sit through the rest of the session(s) without a character to play. It’s never fun. It is a part of the game but in that circumstance it’s never fun. Some DMs have a hard time watching it happen. I know I do. In these moments, concessions must be made to keep the player in the game.
As for Pop’s and his meta-game knowledge? Keep reading.
According to my subconscious “reading” voice, Charlie is a Claptrap.
Now I can’t unhear it, and it is awesome.
I immediately heard “Check me out I’m dancing, I’m dancing,” and saw him run into another beam of death.
I, too, heard Claptrap’s voice. Borderlands has infected us all!
Oh Lord, I’m having Skagzilla flashbacks now. The horror.
Oh good god. Is it just me, or is Sam’s dad insufferable to play a game with? Nearly every in-game strip he’s appeared in so far he’s done something I would find obnoxious:
#1 — Interrupt the GM to make his own “I am so awesome” introduction.
#2 — Eh. This one was actually pretty funny. No complaints.
#3 — Lawful Good as an excuse for policing / attacking another player and telling them how to play the game.
#4 — Quibbling with the GM over trivial rules / blatant rules lawyering.
#5 — Trying to take a leadership role in the party without first proving himself in any tangible way.
#6 — Stalling the game needlessly. This is the “poke everything with a 10 foot pole every other step” nonsense you’d expect from an old-school gamer.
#7 — Trying to put “THE MODULE” ahead of a player, excluding them from the game for the sake of purism.
Just like, eugh. He is insufferable.
I find Charliebot hilarious, though.
You’re picking up what I am laying down! Keep watching, it gets better.
So missed this. caught #1 and 4. found #2 and 3 funny. really need to put more ranks in sense motive apparently…
I don’t know if I’d agree with all of those.
#1: It’s hardly unheard of for players to introduce themselves.
#2: Yeah, that one was hilarious. Although that’s on Brett as much as Pops.
#3: I take it you’re super-squeamish about PvP in games if you consider confrontation with another PC to be a grave sin. But how else is a paladin supposed to react when a party member sends orphaned kids ahead as scouts!?
#4: Yeah, that one was just awful.
#5: Now you’re really reaching. If someone objected and he was a bitch about it, I could see that as grounds for complaint, but calling him on having the temerity to tell other players what to do – something that all of them have done at one point or another – is really out there.
#6: So he’s messing with them. So what? You must be the life of the party if you think a paladin sans stick is something to complain about.
#7: “That’s not in this module” is hardly a good complaint, but it’s only a spur of the moment reaction to what Sam is doing – which seems pretty terrible, IMO.
Giving one PC the keys to the kingdom like that? What the hell is he thinking? This is a decision during the game, so he can’t possibly have thought something like that through. Giving a dead PC a replacement character is one thing, giving them the custodian of the dungeon is totally different!
HAHAHAHAHAHAH!
Rereading every comic containing charlie… replacing what I thought to be his voice with the claptrap voice… and now it makes sense 😛
Well… except for the two gelatinous cubes knocking their boots….
ARG! Just got done reading every strip T_T
Now I have to wait like everyone else >_>
By the way, it occurs to me we haven’t seen Charlie outside of the game since late April. Who else is thinking he’ll have some ridiculous full beard the next time we see him? *lol*
i must be really odd because when ever my character dies i enjoy seeing how the rest of the party get along with out me.
I heard 343 Guilty Spark from Halo
