This is a truly fantastic story. I especially love the top panel, because as Carlos gets into the story, he seems to find his confidence and his stammer vanishes.
Love that touch
I was thinking the exact same thing, it really establishes his personality.
I seriously want to play in Carlos’ campaign.
Awesome intro.
Dang, this is cool. Keep up the good work!
This is so amazing!
I am loving this series!
Carlos’s campaign has given me the idea of doing a game set in the Wild Cards universe. Maybe use cards to figure out if a character is an Ace, Deuce, Joker, or Joker Ace.
Steve Jackson Games had a GURPS setting for same.. *rummages* here ya go: http://www.sjgames.com/gurps/books/WildCards/
If you need a functional set of rules, grab GURPS Lite: http://www.warehouse23.com/products/SJG30-6094
Rule 34 states that if something exists, there’s porn of it.
What’s the rule number that says if something is out there, some enthusiast has turned it into a game?
26 and 42
if your taking hero/villian/vigillate characters hit me up i can make some up all day ouo
This is such a great setup! Makes my hair stand on end from wanting to dive into it.
This story is so great, but I kind of wonder what help the Ulim needed from mankind.
I think that was already agreed
All the Kings Horses: Part Three, Panel One
“We learned the Ulim were refugees, fleeing from their own wars and the terror of oppressors from the Andromeda galaxy.”
“The Ulim were searching for a new home and a fresh start. With Earth and the human race, they found one.”
So fleeing from oppression, but thankfully did not become oppressors themselves and enslave the natives of the new location they found, whose warfare technology was not at the same level of their own. Unlike most colonists/invaders throughout our own history who generally enslave and/or exterminate the native people they find and lay claim to all the regions resources.
I can see why the Ulim asked please so nicely, especially if they had any idea of what humanity has done to each other over things as insignificant a different shade of skin. If they had, they must have been terrified of us.
We’ve been sending out TV signals since WW2, and radio signals for longer than that. They got an earful of what humans can do to each other if pressed.
When we finally make first contact, I think we are going to be unpleasantly surprised that humanity did not invent violence.
True, and the Ulim are clearly no strangers to violence (they trekked a couple million light-years to escape it, after all). We must have seemed no better on approach. Which probably explains their timing – come begging for peaceful aid directly after two brutal, grueling wars, either of which would made any population weary of war. Maximise the chances that people are willing to try peace.
I REALLY wanna play this! 😀
Cool, I ran a SteamPunk/Supers game last year where the PCs were members of the Olympus Club.
Da-dadada Daaaa! Daaaa da daaaa!
Da-dadada Daaaa! Dum-Da-daaaaaa!
. . . because after that last pane, the Superman theme immediately went off in my head.
I dunno. After meeting “Hollywood”, I’m hearing the A-Team theme in my head. 😀
I’m not usually into superheroes but I am SO here for this. Loving this backstory, and looking forward to what the player characters are going to get up to this session.
When I think of Olympus I like the idea of these meta humans as some version of gods since they have powers that are almost god like. So the choice of name for the organization is very approbiate
“You are Agents of Olympus.” gave me goosebumps. This story is starting of really cool.
Outstanding story line and artwork! Can’t wait to see what happens!
