Innsmouth Garden Society: Part Seven
The lastest installment of the Innsmouth arc arrives a little late today. My apologies for that but a migraine took to kicking me around yesterday (thanks, Cthulhu).
If you are new here, this comic usually focuses on D&D and dick jokes but I am in the midst of a little diversion/experiment focusing on an entirely in-game session of Call of Cthulhu. The arc begins here if you’d like to catch up.
I caught some flack for the delay today on Twitter and that’s fine, but just so we’re all clear here my stance is this:
I would rather post a comic later and it be the best I can produce rather than rush out some half-assed piece of trash.
We good? Good.
I’ve been pretty excited about this installment just to showcase the darker nature of magic in the Call of Cthulhu. To use magic, sacrifices must be given and it always leaves some sort of scar on the caster (mental or physical). Based on this comic, we’re led to believe Beatrice is a practitioner of sorts for the Garden Society but her tank could be empty, so to speak.
I hope this comic was worth the wait and I’ll see you on Wednesday!
Brian
OMFG That last panel is EFFING GORGEOUS, Brian. <3
As a regular C’thulhu player, I’m really starting to think you just might have attracted the attention of cult, or elder god, or something that man shouldnt know with this one…seems everything that could go wrong has.
That said, screw anyone who complains. You provide this for our entertainment. And we love it.
Keep it coming
Now i know how magic can cause to go cuckoo! Thanks Brian!
I hope you didn’t take my tweets today as criticism. I was just relaying the advice from the professionals. I love your comic. It delivers great story and/or good jokes consistently & the the art is fantastic. Keep it up!
I would not be opposed to seeing the Innsmouth Garden Society spin off.
If not a spin off, at least a reoccurring event
Yes and yes, please.
I don’t get why people freak out about the time (or day) something is posted. I’m happy to read whenever you get the work done, and I appreciate you doing it. Folks need to relax a bit, methinks.
Loving the Cthulhu arc, I hope it lasts.
… AWESOME. Spot on with the atmosphere. Look forward to more! 😀
Top drawer!
As a first time poster, I gotta say to hell with those whiners. I’m loving this little side trip and would love to see more of it. Keep up the good work, cause this is truly awesome.
Brian, if this is the result of a half-day delay, I’d love for you to delay two or three days next time!
And panel 4? So excellent.
This is a terrific episode. I’d much rather you take your time and take care of yourself IRL in order to be at your best when you provide this excellent work for our entertainment. I’ve got your RSS in my Feed Demon, so the comic comes to me when it’s posted. You do what you need to do. We’ll still be here when you come back.
This keeps getting better… When does the adventure handbook come out so that I can run this???
I am kicking ideas around for a super-simple adventure game based on the Innsmouth Garden Society.
Brian, how long have you been doing mouseover text? HOW LONG, BRIAN???
Not very long at all. I am going to do it from now on and when I go back to re-letter the archive and fix mistakes I will add them there as well.
I love mouseovers/tooltips for web comics, but would it possible to add the text in your comments as well. It could just be me, but I haven’t yet figured out how to see mouseovers on the iPad.
Ha ha ha! I was wondering if anyone else would notice that. It’s on damn near every strip in this arc.
And it’s glorious.
Sorry for my last comment… I just appreciate the D&D and Dick Jokes… and it seemed like this story arc might have had some fun humor seeing how it started…
I don’t follow what happened after Part 6 to get us to Part 7.
Did they run from Wilson and shut the door on him, only to find the corridor behind them blocked as well?
