I went back several comics to check. When she first appears, they’re closed. They came open between the first comic where she shows up and panel 4. Since they look closed in panel 2, I would assume that the comic was drawn over multiple days.
It’s a fantastic nitpick, and I wouldn’t have noticed it without it being pointed out, but considering that Monsieur Patterson arts in ways I can only dream of doing, I feel like the appropriate reaction is more towards a shrug and a “who cares about the buttons” than towards actually caring about small errors.
I wasn’t being pedantic. She’s trying to convince them to do something and I figgered it was on purpose. Just waiting to see what the hook was after seeing their catch in the temple.

Xero,
actually-actually you can clearly see the top button in P2. Said button is not only open but missing entirely in P4.

As someone in a party that has someone who uses chance of a lifetime as a scam, nothing good comes from PCs using that line either.
