See, I’d think people would be clamoring to loan their favorite die for this purpose; whether 1 or 20, imagine the sort of karmic bond you make over that roll!
My kid and his buddies have a sacred D20 called “Iron Tooth” it’s an ugly green and purple thing that seems to always come through in the clutch. Time to bust out Iron Tooth my Bitch-achos.
I see my group passing a hat and each player and the DM adding a favorite d20 to the mix, then letting him pick which one to roll. Any one of us would gladly offer up our own lucky die. In my group one of us even has, what we refer to as a >der die< because it is known to roll a 1 with alarming regularity. No der die for saving throws (unless he is the DM that night!)
I have this really “BIG & HEAVY” golden D20 – I’m scared to roll it because it could damage a wooden table or even worse, shatter a glass table, or kill someone. I would gladly let Charlie roll that son of a … just to have a Nat 20 break glass. 🙂
Incidentally, I looked online, and there aren’t any audio dice rollers, except for d6 ones. Plenty of electronic dice (including the venerable Dragonbone), but none that announce a result.
I may have to learn how to ‘duino, as there may be an untapped market…
Cue everyone else at the table screaming “DON’T TOUCH MY DICE HEATHEN!”

Yeah. My players would be hucking dice at him left and right.
“This one’s lucky use it…”
yep
Nah, man. Nah. This is a moment. These don’t happen often. You give that man a d20, you pray to the gods of luck, and you let him roll.
I pity you for the tables you play at, Matt. No one I ever play with would react that way, especially in such a moment.
My group is easily swept up in things like this, so it’d be more like; “Cue everyone holding ut their D20s”.
I like to think most groups are like that, yes. This comic, and its eventual follow-up, are going to be simply packed full of feels.

Great, now I have the urge to create an artifact that can alter fate called Iron Tooth…maybe translate it into Latin….
Dentes Ferreos?
Character name- Goblin- ”Fears Dentist’
Am I weird in that I don’t mind other players touching my dice?
This is a fantastic moment. I love this so much!
A twist! I guess it’ll be a while longer before we find out if there’s an auditory accompaniment to rolling a 1witg Charlie’s rolling device.
That said, the suspense is quite palpable at this point. It’s thick, ever present, and full of danger.
Wow, speechless right now.
Got some dust in my eyes over here. Super dusty right now.
You too? I thought it was just me.
Chopping onions everywhere.
SO MUCH DUST
TIS A FRACKING DUST STORM, I TELL YOU!!
Not dust, some asshole is tossing onion powder around…
Awwwwwrr, Charlie.
LOL! Fantastic, I love this comic!
Don’t you dare touch my dice…. Their cursed. It’s a burden I must bear by myself. Don’t you dare jeopardize this roll with my curse laden dice.
Only most sacred d20 is worthy of this roll.
*slow clap builds up to a standing ovation as everyone offers him their best D20*
RIGHT in the feelings. I’m actually teary-eyed from this one.
My DM has a D20 a bit larger than a tennis ball for such occasions. We make room for the important rolls.
I have a nice set of pewter dice that I keep locked away so my mother can’t get to them (she throws dice).
That’s what we use. The weight make sure you feel the decision you’re making.
She throws dice? As in she rolls wildly or clumsily? Please explain.
Feels. So many.
Ha, this is where Pete from “Darths and Droids” would be: “Here, take one of my pre-rolled die.”
or his explosive one
Gotta have something special for the big rolls.
HHHHGGGGNNNNNNNGGGGHHHHHH…….
Moments like this are why I’m considering saving for some Artisan Dice. Used only for those epic moments.
Now this is worth the buildup! You have captured an amazing moment here.
Charlie’s Dice Roller: “Y O U W H O R E. Y O U S A I D Y O U L O V E D M E.”
At this point the DM would pass their dice in my group.
And here we all thought Brian couldn’t give this roll any more weight…
First of all: How dare you.
Second of many: My poor precious heart
Third of three: This is such a great strip. The way you’ve built up to this emotional climax over the years is just fantastic. Well done you

Oh gods I’m almost crying here. T-T
