Just a reminder to 3 percent of the folks who visit this site, if you plan to come into my comments and be an asshole towards me or anyone else here, know that I will shut it down quickly. I don’t like to drop these reminders and they are rare, but Wednesday’s comic seemed to bring some shitlords to town and I’m just not going to put up with it. Good talk? Good talk.
Thank you!
You’re basically the DM of this webcomic/site. Rule Zero still applies in all its myriad of forms.
I hate hearing that some people have left hateful comments. I love this strip and know that sometimes a story has to have bad things happen, but there’s always more to it and the reader needs to remember that.
As Neegan will say, “I will shut that shit down!” ^^
Bravo sir, you brought the feels
If I can make characters actually channel their own fear in an interesting narrative way or make a group of players cry about what happened to a character.. I know I have done well to get them into their characters role.
Excellent cliffhanger Brian. Although I can’t wait to see what their next session brings, I am really looking forward to the new Karthun artwork. Bravo sir.
I’m not crying, you’re crying.
Shut up, I just got something in my eye.
It’s just…raining…on my face.
I’m just cutting onions ‘cuz I’m making a lasagna…for one.
DAMNATION, HOW DO THESE NINJA KEEP GETTING SLICED ONIONS INTO MY ROOM
They’re coming in through the attic. Only way to explain why it is si dusty in here…
JEANIE YOU FIEND! YOU, YOU MONSTER!
Very well played, Brian. Very well played, indeed. I’ve always enjoyed playing under a GM that can tug at the heartstrings…not that it happens much anymore XD
Yeah, when I DM, the only strings I can seem to pull are the strings of laughter. Just this week I had the party knock out some Elven Battle Deer for a man who wanted to use them to turn into Demonic Santa Claus.
Out of curiosity, Brian, who’s saying “Love finds a way, you monster!” in the last panel? My money’s on Brett or Trevor, but I’d be curious who’s canon-saying that.
The past two weeks’ comics have been excellent– I definitely have feels right now.
My money is on Brett.
THIS IS SOO AWESOME!!!
You are killing it. Well done. Excellent story.
NOOOOOO NEVER END ON A CLIFFHANGER! BAD DM
(jk, this is wonderful)
I was nosing through the cast section and I’m curious when Carlos will be put up there?
The end of the game arcs are always the worst because they are always SO GOOD
Well done arc. Thank you for the story.
Okay… I actually feel better now. Brett brings the comfort.
Bringing comfort and joy – not only to his girlfriend (who GM’s) – is part of his job as Santa Claus.*
*To be fair until recently I had totally forgotten he had that job myself.
Brian, you beautiful pagan beast. Brett bringing the hope at the end of the session was exactly what this climax needed. Also complimenting his GF by calling her a monster is very fitting. 😉
Love the way Bret’s character has grown since the first strips, back when he was a little… toxic… when it came to issues like female gamers and having feelings.
Loved the Karthun storylines, great job!
Oh, me too! I was definitely a Brett Hater in the early days.
I feel the Christmas arcs helped him out with regards to development. :3
I called it: voice of reason, dissolves into tears.
This was a pretty good arc.
If you can make your players feel those kinds of feels about their characters, I think you can officially call yourself a good DM.
Also, you can officially call yourself a good player if you can get that invested in your character.
Well done, Brian!
Feels felt.
Fu GM’s and your Empire Strikes Back endings. I want to save Deyla from Jabba NOOOOOWWWWWWWW!
Good. God. DAMN. I did *not* sign up for this feels trip.
Very well done Brian.
Yay Brett! ^^
