Until Death: Part Seven
Chapter: Season Four
Professor Brant (Sam) failing Sanity checks all the way down.
The arc is ramping up (at least from my perspective anyway) and things get interesting this week.

“Six.”
Three little letters. One word, stated so matter-of-fact. One massive stomach punch.
Great writing!
And in that panel, Brant’s eyes are empty. Brilliant.
So sad, yet so beautiful…
Man, this is an awesome story arc so far. I can’t wait to see where it goes!
Just noticed the alt-text leaves us with a cliffhanger…
HAHA! Oops. Fun fact: Whenever I use quotation marks in the alt text it cuts off. Let me fix that.
Use (ampersand)quot; instead of a literal quotation mark
It really should be escaped automatically. If you’re still doing it by hand, you should have a word with your webmaster.
I really want to play this game.
In Call of Cthulhu the fun doesn’t start ’til the Sanity checks start failing.
Is this a game where you really need a good storyteller, or will the game roll on it’s own?
It helps to have a good story teller, someone that knows lovecraftian lore and can modify it to fit various stories and situations. Call of Cthulhu from what I’ve encountered is more dice heavy so that may help, but Trail of Cthulhu is more story driven.
Outstanding. Each time I think that you have written an amazing dramatic arc, the next one tops it. Well done good sir.
So…when’s the Kickstarter for Season 2? 😀
I just had a falling out with a dear friend of mine. This misted me up a bit.
I’m sorry if this hit a little close to home. It’s always a risk when I do these more serious arcs and I hate to hear that the story causes people any pain. I hope you can patch things with your friend. I’ll just say that life is too short for folks who care about each other to be angry for too long.
Thanks Brian. I really enjoy your comic but the timing of this one kinda struck a still raw nerve. I hope things can be salvaged but I fear bridges may have been burned.
Right after I wrote this I realized there was a coincidence that’s been right in front of my face this whole time and somehow it has never clicked until now. My real name is Sam, my friend that I’m on having relationship problems with is Melanie or as I called her Mel. Dude are you watching me?
Simply epic! Beautiful, but sad, but awesome.
I actually played Jacob Marley in my college’s production of A Christmas Carol just last year.
