The Ultimate Poker Face
Chapter: Season Ten
Smooth, Trevor. Smooooooooooooth.
This brings the arc to an actual close. It was one of the longest, and most rewarding arcs of this series. I could say that about everything over the years, but this one is special to me for a lot of personal reasons (that I may talk about more at a later date). I just love that I was able to finally get Brett, the character he is now, behind the screen.
I hope you enjoyed it.
I will be back on Wednesday, May 6th with the beginning of the new arc. I just want to take a few days to work ahead and get my freelance/commission schedule cleared.
Thank you all so much for reading. Have a nice weekend.
May 5th :O a birthday comic for me 😛
Only if it has Canadian Bacon and Pineapple on it.
that sounds good if you use BBQ not marinara sauce
White garlic sauce
Hell yeah. Thats my favorite pizza.
Super Supreme, no pineapple or anchovies. Thanks!
It was a great tale Brian! I, among many others, thoroughly enjoyed it.
I know you are planning on closing the story of Sam, Brett and family, but have you thought about continuing the tales of the Karthun Crue? I’d like to see what adventures await them.
Good stuff.
Oh God. Jeannie. . . The Shadow knows!!
Really, though. She’s married to Santa Claus. OF COURSE she knows.
The SHADOW?!
Tenebrous Voice: MS. SANTA CAN SEE YOUR SINS!!!
Pizza? Sure, I’ll take a large with light sauce, bacon, pineapple, canadian bacon, onions, and mushrooms. Mushrooms can be swapped for black olives, but the other four are a must.
Interesting combo.
I admittedly can’t do onions myself. Don’t much care for mushrooms, though I like black olives (not tried with those toppings but might test it).
As for the sauce, I might replace tomato sauce for barbeque sauce, as I often do for Hawaiian Style pies.
Let me tell you that BBQ sauce is good idea in the pizza, untul the C-Virus close ups i know a pizzeria craft-your-own-style and is tasty.
This is a stupid nit to pick, as half the time I don’t know what day it is. But Wednesday will be the 6th.
Great end to a great arc. I love Jeanie’s suspicion face.
Okay, does anyone else want “Dungeon Flippers” to be a real game?
Doo-Doo Head??? 😮 Amy!!! I’m shocked by such language!
Awesome end to the game there. Santa Brett definitely earned his DM Guild credentials with this one! 😀
Also, I kind of want to know what “Dungeon Flippers” involves. Is it like a regular dungeon crawl, but there are traps hidden around the place that cause the player triggering them to get sent to a darker alternate mirror-universe version of the dungeon (represented by flipping the board over)? 🙂
I’d guess it possibly would be along the concept of house flipping but with dungeons
Hate to be That Guy but May 5 is a Tuesday, so if you meant Wednesday, May 6 I’d make that change. Because inevitably you’ll get that person with the emotional intelligence of a cabbage whining at noon tomorrow about how there’s no comic etc etc.
ANYWAYS… I’m kinda sad this arc ended. It was so freaking cool, I just wanted it to go on and on.
Indeed it is! I got the numerical date mixed up. Thank you for the heads-up. I corrected it in the blog post.
Wait. Why is Jeannie giving Trevor the stink-eye about him dating Sam’s brother when she was shipping the ever-lovin crap out them earlier? Sam may not approve of “Sleeping with the Enemyâ€, for a variety of reasons, but what Jeannie’s angle?
Is it a case of, “Least said, Soonest mended†where the Brothers Tigh are concerned? Or is it something else?
I think she’s annoyed at him because she knows that Sam will eventually find out, and she’d rather have Trevor be honest with him instead of Sam finding it out in the worst way possible later.
I thought Sam did know already. Much in the same way he knew what Charlie does for a living without it actually being said on panel.
Sam is unaware. It was a several pages back, but I alluded to it here:

Ah. Missed that one; makes sense now.
Yeah… Trevor and Lee need to get this out on front street, at least to family and close friends, as soon as possible. Sam will be pissed that Trevor’s “Sleeping with the Enemy”, as it were. But he’ll be even more pissed that his brother and one of his best friends felt they had to go behind his back. That’s something that breaks relationships.
Heh… It’s cruelly ironic that Trevor, biggest gossip of the group ever, finally found the mental fortitude to not blab about something; shame it had to be for this. :-/
I’m reading this on my birthday. I’ll take a Stuffed Crust Meat Lovers with no sauce. (I don’t enjoy the mini-explosions of actual boiling steam in my mouth like I never used to…) Or a Cheese-And-Pepperoni Stuffed Crazy Crust Three Meat Treat (Pizza The Hut versus Little Caesars, the only two places that do stuffed crust up here).
