Trevor’s former beau, IIRC. Wonder why they broke it off, he seemed alright. If I were to hazzard a guess, though, one of them got tired of the other’s drama. Who’s drama was the problem remains to be seen. 🙂
Well, I mean, Donny seemed perfectly pleasant and likable, but he was never in the series enough to be given any real development, and it makes sense for both Brian to decide to simply drop him and for Trevor to follow suit. And I like how Brian wrote this.
I don’t think there’s any reason to read more into the breakup than that it wasn’t working out, both for the characters and creator.
The RL reason is that I did have some plans for Donny and Trevor but other arcs got in the way and now, years later, I do not like where those ideas could have gone. So, it made sense to write Donny out quickly and quietly in this strip and clear the field, so to speak, for Trevor’s social schedule. This season is all about tying up a ton of the loose ends out there in the d20Monkeyverse, while prepping for new things.
Hey Brian, I don’t know if this is the best place to throw this, but I just got my copy of DFCO, and the Ra cards look great! I do hope you and Greater Than Games or Evil Hat get to team up for more projects in the future!
Thank you very much! I am quite proud of that work and DFCO is an excellent game. I don’t know if I’ll work with Greater Than Games again, but I definitely will do more with Evil Hat.
Or Trevor and Charlie are still inside the coffee shop currently (having just bought the coffee) and that view is through the window to the outside and across the street, which Trevor would have just noticed as he was exiting the store.
I can’t believe people are talking about whether the words in the sign should be reflected backwards or not, and not pointing out that in the spit-take panel it says “Grope On.” 😀
HOVER-TEXT: HOT MOCHA SPIT-TAKE is my Gary Coleman spoken word erotica album.
Aw, man. Donnie was ready to go off on Dove in an earlier strip. I was waiting for him to come back and handle unfinished business.
“Cut that sub-plot loose”? Excellent leaning on the fourth wall there, my good sir. Well played.
crap who was donny again?
Oh good, I’m not the only one
Speaking of Dove…. I think after getting drop kicked from the Dragons Den he might have opened up some “competition”.

Honey if they are like the gay guys I have known (not intimately just socially) I would say probably both.

#BRINGBACKDONNY
Nope.
Think you can read Grand Opening in the windows reflection. Guessing another game store.

I’m not sure I understand why Trevor does his spit-take.
Patience, Grasshopper.
And that’s how he keeps you coming back, mate.
If that “GRAND OPENING” text is a reflection in a window, shouldn’t it be reversed?

I retract my previous comment.
It could also be a banner just hanging in the window, instead of a reflection. I see that around here all the time 🙂
Dun dun Dove…

How does he spittake in the middle of a sentence?
With fucking style.
Maybe the reason people aren’t talking about the joke in panel 3 is that if you mention it, your comments go into moderation?
Say what now?
