Exactly so. It takes the agility AND the intelligence. If you let one of them sour and turn into arrogant egotism …. you’ve lost the magic combo, and it’s squishy-time.
I still can’t get over how ridiculously calm she is regarding BEING IN A FIST-FIGHT WITH AN OGRE AFTER TELEPORTING ACROSS THE PLANET TO SAVE ACTUAL LITERAL SANTA.
Just another Taco Tuesday for the bundle of badass named Officer Clark.
I also want to know why shes so chill!! Like has she fought monsters before, and its just backstory we dont know about or is it more like “Oh this is just another abuse asshole, treat it like any others.”
I am also very content to never know though. Mysterious bad assess can stay mysterious. 🙂
In my head, I like to think that Clark is just doing some cameo work from her long running urban fantasy comic where she’s a near immortal guardian and the city isn’t just her beat, but the ward under her protection.
I’m not an artist, but I’m not sure these are so easy to draw; sure, impressionistic rather than lots of background detail, but it feels like every snowflake has been lovingly added. Entirely agree about the effect of the contrast, though; awesome, especially that first panel.
Some people really bibble when confronted by the unbelievable or horrifying. And some just deal with what they find and worry about it later. People like police and nurses see so much strangeness in Mundania that they’re really good candidates for a “ah, he’s big. Dodge and hit ‘im with _this_” reaction.
Agility and intelligence will win over rage and brawn, every time.
Also: FIRST
Unless you’re Oberyn Martell.
I’d argue he lost because he let is ego overtake his intelligence and agility.

Like the Tuatha Dé Danann, but with a Tex-Mex seasoning.
We can be sure of one thing. She’s seen some shit.
her middle name is Murphy
She is beauty, she is grace…
Now he’s been sprayed all in his face!
Her mace was MUCH more effective than his.
The “olé†pose is brilliant!
Love the panel design and snow effects in this, not to mention Clark’s pose as she DEXes out of the way of his STR
That Cop is Supercop! 😀
But what about the tacos!!!??
(I still feel like officer Clark’s introduction was recent, not “Screw you grampa, it’s been seven years!” ago.)
Now we see how she beat Grey.
beautifully dodged like a master bullfighter leading the beast to slaughter. lol. love it
Now let me introduce you to my friend, Ms. Taser. 🙂
She’s got a sparkling personality, and can really light up your evening.
Got this energy that just floors you
Man the transition between those last two panels was fantastic Brian.
Don’t tear up over it!
One thing I noticed, since these are all huge, impactful, energetic scenes…..
It was very smart to pick the fridged north for a backdrop b/c it seems very simple to draw, and the lack of color really frames the characters.
Excellent choice my guy <3

I do indeed draw all of the snow effects for each panel. Snow moves, so I try to reflect that.
Well then goddamn Brian that’s amazing! It looks so clean and effortless… :O Good job!
The good artists always make it look easy.
Please, the officer Clark fanclub has been a major institution for years now :p.

I want to have Officer Clark’s babies.
Yes, you heard that right.
*nudges Charlie* Yep, she’s definitely a keeper! 😉
…. well, Winter DOES need a new Steward, who understands enforcing the rules on one hand, but also a little go-along-to-get-along on the other hand ….
RRAAAA!
Willie Pep would have applauded that move.
