Shattered Honor – Part Twenty-Seven
d20Monkey turns 9-years old today.
It is an amazing feeling to look back on 9-years of content and see how things have changed since that first strip about two guys who loved D&D.
I have experienced highs and lows personally and professionally over the years, working hard to skill up my character sheet, and build a career doing what I love. I have cherished every moment of it and now as I look down the path toward the final 365 days of d20Monkey, I do so with equal parts excitement and sadness. I love these characters, I love this world, and I love all of the wonderful people this comic has allowed me to meet along the way. I will hold it all close to my heart until my final breath.
Thank you all for being here with me. Thank you for supporting this work, offering encouragement, calling out my propensity for typos, and being a wonderful community. It means everything to me.
365 days remain. I hope you will be here with me to see how it all ends.
Brian
Happy Birthday to a wonderful group of characters! I’m looking forward to what the next year brings.
You’re awesome. Don’t ever let anyone tell you otherwise.
Here’s to many more years to come!
… I hate to be the one who breaks it to you, but, this comic _is_ ending somewhat soon-ish.
Good news, though: we’re going to get a constant stream of the Innsmouth Garden Society in it’s place. 🙂
Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo…………….
You are awesome!! thanks for 9 years of wonders 😀
Happy birthday and thanks for all the time and effort you put into this. Just because we don’t all say something, you should know you are nonetheless appreciated!
You’ve told some amazing stories over the years and I’ve only come into your world about 3 years ago. Glad I stumbled upon it.
More Innsmouth Garden Society? So it’s taking over the stories of Sam & Co? I’ve really enjoyed their tales and table adventures. I hope we get to see some one-shot adventures for that group.
But I’ll keep reading nonetheless.
I eagerly await the next nine

works for me
Happy Birthday, d20Monkey!
Brian announces d20 Monkey is ending the day after “Feast of Legends” is released. …Coincidence!!??
Curse you Dave Thomas!!!!
…Basically, I blame Wendy’s.
Seriously, though, man: great work on this. I don’t even remember when I picked this up, but it was years ago, and I have thoroughly enjoyed the ride. Looking forward to the last mile.
Guess who’s in the worm?
BARBARIANS
Who are the barbarians?
“Non-worms!” said the worms, being attack by barbarians
Oh. I must have missed that the comic’s ending. :O Unless this was the announcement. X)
Still, it’s been a wild ride, and I’m all for getting out when it feels right to. Tell a coherent story, wrap it up to your satisfaction. Better than some comics that go on for decades, heh.
Here’s lifting a glass to you, Brian!
You’ve put more magic into Christmas than a hundred Hallmark feel-good holiday specials (and a thousand-times more ass-kickery on top of that), and you’ve woven a story full of fantasy, shenanigans and dick jokes, yet made characters that are relatable, real and “flawed” (I use quotes because our depression, anxiety and the like may bring out the worst in us, but does also, under the right circumstances, bring out the best in us. Besides, anyone who claims to live a “perfect” life is either lying, or part/leader of a cult).
You’ve got a few loose ends to tie off, yet. But I look forward to seeing the fancy bow you make from them 🙂
I keep looking st the first panel, hearing *angry gurgling noises*, and cracking up.
Your comic encouraged me to take up Call of Cthulhu and I’ve been a busy DM for about 10 months of weekly games at this point. Thank you for a phenomenal comic and great inspiration.
Keep doing what you love to do! Roll for it!
The King of Seasons has very much appreciated being here with you throughout this time of reading. The King of Seasons is also not ready for this to end. The King of Seasons will go cry now.
I noticed that Burg’s Uvula (little punching bag thingy in the back of your throat) is coming from the bottom of his mouth when its supposed to come from the top… sorry, its my cartoonist senses tingling.
Also sad to hear about this ending, but also proud to have found this comic about 8 years ago, so, yea I’m one of the old farts that hangs out here too! it’s been an honour to serve with you sir!
Yay! The uvula has been fixed PRAISE THE MAKER!
Aww, D20 Monkey is ending??? 😮
Sad day, man. Sad day… 🙁
It’s a sad day indeed. I have had this site on my phone since I’ve started reading this about 5 years ago. It will be hard to let this world and its characters go. Maybe there will be hope for Christmas miracle…
