Chapter: Season Ten
Fun Fact: I actually DID roll this result on the tables from the 5e D&D Dungeon Master’s Guide.

Is. . . . is that a GOOD “Oh, shit!” or a BAD ‘Oh shit”?
I went and had a look at the manual. For those who don’t care about spoilers: it seems like a good “Oh shit.” though with Karthun’s relationship with death there is a possibility of Brett making adjustments.
went and googled the item, since i’m not a D&D guy. this could be good, could be very bad. either way, it is going to make the rest of the adventure much more interesting.
Let me put it this way: I would be -very- happy to have that item in my hands. I would be -very- unhappy to see that in the hands of someone who wants me dead if I’m already hurting.
Oh, it’s a very good “oh, shit.” Here, check it out for yourself: https://5e.tools/items.html#nine%20lives%20stealer_dmg
TL;DR +2 sword of Instakill on crit (but only 9 times)
You gain a +2 bonus to Attack and Damage Rolls made with this Magic Weapon.
The sword has 1d8 + 1 Charges. If you score a critical hit against a creature that has fewer than 100 Hit Points, it must succeed on a DC 15 Constitution saving throw or be slain instantly as the sword tears its life force from its body (a construct or an Undead is immune). The sword loses 1 charge if the creature is slain. When the sword has no Charges remaining, it loses this property.
How much of the level is undead?
That’s the fun part of the “oh shit” so yeah good item but also… maybe not so good. Still a +2 is solid
You have to see beyond the one-shot adventure with Brett DMing. If they get out of here they have a very powerful weapon to slay their foes. They might have just found just the right thing to deal with a certain fay.
Not fey…marid.
Yes!
I need this weapon. I NEED IT
Lets see how this goes:

How it goes is apparently Google telling me I’ve made too many requests recently.
The DM is laughing! Quick – feed him! Throw him a halfling or something!
This reminds of a fellow DM I had while still a teenager (back in the 80’s). He would roll on the DMG “random monster by terrain type” table for wandering monsters when we made camp.
The big difference being if he liked a creature from a different terrain type better we’d suddenly end up there instead – like rolling down the side of that mountain into a swamp full of shambling mounds for example . . .
Well – I would think the part of the attribute description where it says “a construct or an undead is immune” – would mean that in this tomb full of undead – this ain’t gonna do jack.
just what I was thinking!
It’s not gonna do jack in this dungeon crawl. But picture, if you will, the scenario should they escape. Dwayla thinks her trap succeeded, and the party is all dead. Annabelle (because this thing’s going to go to Annabelle) now has the capacity to insta-kill Dwayla in a fashion which precludes any and all ability to resurrect.
YAY! Santa came early!… Wait.
I’m loving jovial Brett! 😀 This is truly how tabletop games should be played, laughing and joking and having a great time even as people are being maimed and dying horribly.
Yeah but a certain green skinned lady however…
Yeah, it’s never good when the DM laughs.
I think that just having that item makes them the enemy of the God of Death in the Karthun universe since she is big on controlling the souls of the dead and this may fuck with that with some alterations possibly.
I think this site will help you to get the list of spills of each builds in the game.
