Oh…. That is bad. That is real bad.
Some version of that last panel should be a t-shirt.
When everything seems to be going to hell there’s nothing to do but open that flask.
Ch-ch-ch-ha-ha-ha
I’m hoping for a turnabout soon…
Matching morbid for morbid… perhaps the party is on their way to Fiddler’s Green. (This would not improve their situation any.)
“…
And so when man and horse go down beneath a saber keen,
or in a roaring charge fierce melee you stop a bullet clean,
and the hostiles come to get your scalp,
just empty your canteen and put your pistol to your head
and go to Fiddlers’ Green.”
Hmm, i’ve seen a different version of that:
When you’re wounded and dying on Afghanistan’s plains
And the women come out to cut up what remains
Just roll to your rifle and blow out your brains
And go to your death like a soldier
— Rudyard Kipling
I’ve never really watched slasher flicks, so I’m a little wrong genre savvy and expect, in a situation like the last panel, when someone is standing alone whistling nonchalantly, for a ‘mugging the monster’ scenario.
Let’s hope that’s how it turns out for the PCs.
Toss a coin to your Patterson! Ohhh deee 20 monkeys! Toss a coin to your Patterson the creater of awsume! I wish I could but i hope this comment makes him smile.
I think “Toss a coin to your Brian” flows better, tbh. But neat idea.

Oh dear. We’ve all been there. And it’s worse when your DM’s dice are rolling hot, as mine (and apparently Brett’s) so often do…
And yet our marriage remains healthy despite a few TPKs . . . (DMs in love)
It gets worse – the PC’s luck just got done having sex with the cheerleader.
So no joke this actually happened. For family reasons i had to show up to a game 3 hours late. I arrived in the middle of an intense boss fight. I was told that for the entire 3 hours I wasn’t there the party had failed to get any roll above a 10 on any check or roll. They were hurting. So i show up and take over playing my character from the gm. First roll i make is a 1. Now this is nothing new to me, my dice karma is attrocious. But after i rolled that one everyone proceeded to roll 15 or above for the rest of the session. the barbarian rolled 9 crits in a row for his attack rolls.
I am a bad luck magnet. I role in the party is to roll horribly so the rest of the group doesnt.
This is the story of my life…
I also have a nasty habit of only rolling 1s whenever attempting a non-combat skill check on something that could potentially kill my character or everyone else’s…
And then there was that time with the undead mage boss fight and the unfortunate positioning of my Wizard’s Flaming Sphere. (*shudder*) I no longer wish to remember that time… (*twitch, twitch…*)
That last panel made me cackle out loud too!
