Shattered Honor – Part Ninety-Three
Chapter: Season Ten
I live for these moments at the table.
I am told that I have a discount code for my TeePublic store, and I hope it does not seem crass to say so, given everything that is going on in the world now. I am struggling to keep my rent paid, so I am going to share the information and get back to work.
Use the code JOKE30 at checkout for a 30 percent discount.

Thank you so much for reading. The story is almost over.
oh don’t celebrate too soon….
Someone is going to bump the table and it’s going to fall.
It *is* April 1st after all.
Was about to have a heart attack there. Also just put in my order for the Game Masters Union t-shirt. Can’t wait to get it.
Hang on, all single digit numbers on one side of the dice?
Someone always wants to be the person to try to call that out when I draw numbers on the dice. So there is a reference pic above now. Yes, they are all JUST like that.
I had a friend who used a spin-down d20 from MtG in a D&D game and someone challenged him saying “That’s spindown d20!” He looked them straight in the eye and said “AND?”
I wasn’t a MTG guy, so the idea of a spin-down is a brand new concept to me and I just fell down a rabbit hole looking them up.I learned something today!
The issue with spindown dice as randomizers is if someone wants to cheat, it’s easier to do so. If you can learn to roll a die to favor a certain half of the die, this is much more effective with a spindown.
So if someone unexpectedly brings a spindown to a situation where randomness is called for, it can look suspect.
You can also get more pronounced clustering effects if the die happens to be unintentionally weighted (poorly made, for example) with a spindown than a normal d20.
Which considering they’re made with the intent to just be a life counter rather then a die I’m guessing there isn’t a mess of quality control involved.
I’m not saying that they don’t exist, just that I wouldn’t expect Brett to use a spin-down
I come from an era where we inked the dice ourselves. Yes, we inked one side one color (ones) and the other side the other color (teens). We didn’t do anything fancy to alternate colors or anything.
There are more T-shirts than I expected in the store! Before I buy some, can anyone tell me whether they tend to run larger or smaller?
I’m a big guy and I get a big size. The 4xs feel pretty good on me. But they WILL shrink a bit in a dryer. YMMV.
thanks for the info on the tshirts .. needed to replace the old flaming D20 that was getting pretty old .. should be here in a week or so
Which is better for you? Paying the full $20 for a t-shirt or using the promo code?
I do make more from non-sale items, but I am happy to see folks save some money and get new shirts, etc.
Thank you for asking!
Always happy for a reminder of a t-shirt, I’ve enjoyed every one of the shirts I’ve gotten from the D20Monkey store (I am the proud owner of several of the Flaming d20 iterations), so I’m happy to grab a new one. Thanks for the years of excellent content, my dude.
So, the aspect might be dead from this lightning bolt now, but the wish was to *destroy* the aspect, not just deanimate it. So is the Sultan gonna keep going and incinerate the thing? At what point does it cease being the aspect and become an unrelated mass of atoms? Hm.
ADnD 1st edition, end of dungeon crawl monster (Boss) was a Titan. Tired and worn out party, one of the few spells left..disintergate. MagicUser casts disintegrate at 10’cube including titans head, fighter tank takes wallop that K.O.s him in single hit. Titan rolls….1…against spells/DM whatever. Party yells!!
Love reliving the moment.
