I don’t think I have ever heard the phrase “Call a audible”. I am not sure what it means.
It comes from football. Basically it means to change a play or plan at the last moment.

But why do i feel a new bad guy has risen up? The wish is fulfilled so now it will claim the souls of the party members… 😀

I think the wishes are already “paid for”, they’re the obligatory reward for freeing him from the bottle. That said, yeah, once the three wishes are fulfilled and there is no more obligation holding back the Sultan? Who can tell what he’ll do? Maybe it’ll depend on what the party has him do for the wishes. He seems powerful enough he probably wouldn’t have any reason to try to kill them, then again, would he needs a reason? But he seems eager to go back to his throne so my guess is that he’ll get rid of the wishes as fast as possible then plane shift back home or something like that.
The real question is, what will he do once he’s back on his throne? Is he content to rule his kingdom? Is he the kind who’ll look to expand and try to conquer the material plane?
The safer bet would be to use the third wish to force him to go back in the bottle. On the other hand, it’s also the one thing that is guaranteed to piss him off and if he gets out by other means in your lifetime you’re going to be in a world of hurt.
I don’t feel that The Sultan is a new bad guy. I think we’re finally getting to the real baddie behind this story: Dwayla. I am dying to know the story behind Calvis’ marriage and I hope to see his remaining wishes vs. his wife’s. I’m also kinda hoping that she ends up in the bottle instead of just slaughtered. She’s too hot to die. <3
