Any DM worth their salt will hear that and start plotting for an antagonist to find the flask down the road. Sam is a DM worth his salt, he knows this. And I bet he’s all too gleeful for it to happen.
Calvis must be a glutton for abusive relationships if he wants to potentially get into a tiff with a djinn after after his “marriage” ended so abruptly.
It’s so many levels of weird that I feel bad that a fictional character betrayed another fictional character while being played by a fictional character
The Sultan is an immensely powerful, evil being. Who LIKES FIRE.
Much of the world has been consumed in flames. The Sultan likely would enjoy changing the word “much” to “all” … and he might just have the power necessary to do so. Which would be absolutely catastrophic for everyone involved.
So, a lie like that isn’t Lawful ….but it hella certain is GOOD.
CG for the win. 🙂
SIDE NOTE: if the Sultan had been able to free Deyla, I’m’a bet Calvis third wish would have been “Sultan, I >WISH< for you to put this Gauntlet on, right now" … 😀 😀 😀
Sam made an epic 24 persuade roll earlier to convince him with Calvis. This is exactly what I was thinking myself. You can wish them back in. I even said so back on April 6th. It’s the kind of play I’ve done before.
I’m curious what the exit strategy would have been if they hadn’t decided to steal the flask. Hm. Brett obviously meant for them to get it, but they came pretty close to not getting it or using it.
I have some experience in this. we broke some ceiling segments/stonework in a giant hall. Dug up until sand poured in from above, it was part digging and part blasting with cantrips that did force dmg. It took us a few days, but we got out.
Hoooooo boy… If the story wasn’t tipping into denouement I’d expect Calvis to pay dearly for that betrayal someday.
Tricksters man.
Bravo!
“Technically, he did it to himself…I just handed him some lube.”
Sam looks an awful lot like his brother in that 4th panel
*whistles and sips coffee*
Hyped to see how it all plays out in the end, been a wild ride since I stumbled on a random pic of SGT Kitty Corn and had to know what was going on.
You sir are a Magnificent Bastard and I like that!!! Hahahahahahahahaha!
Well played! I love the idea of a cleric of trickery!!!
WOW.

Yeah, that’s not something to fear, that’s something to look forward to. That sounds epic lol. And it’s such a great character moment for Calvis.

revenge DM’s suck.
Well Done!
My LG is twitching, but well played. Well played.
*puts on Hulk hands just so he can applaud louder*
Bravo!
OMG SAM YOU EFFING LEGEND

Holy fuck.
I don’t understand this dick move, but good gods what an amazing dick move.

Sam is playing a cleric to the God of Thieves. Do you know what they do?
*cues the music*
WHAT THEY DO?
They smile in your face
All the time your coin they want to take.
They’re backstabbers.
BACKSTABBERS!
Friends, I’m by no means questioning the move, good or evil or trickster. It’s just an amazing dick move.
That is a move I’d expect from another Sam. Sam Riegel.
“Me, I’m dishonest! And a dishonest man you can always trust to be dishonest. Honestly.”
Nice twist, hehe 🙂
A Cleric of the god of thieves, assassins, and trickery… To be fair, the Sultan should have seen that coming! 😉

This was a great arc. Now I do believe it may be time that we have Andromeda X & Carlos’ seven completed stories return.
I’d hate to be playing the next character to find that flask.
