Secret ‘Stache
I believe most folks can sympathize with making changes to their appearance that they later regret (especially during the teenage and early 20’s years). They may not take it as far as Sam did but the idea is there.
The big thing for me during those younger years was my hair. I wore it long, cut it short, buzzed it, and dyed it a staggering array of colors. It was fun and at least with hair, if it was fucked up it would always grow back. When it came to clothing, I’ve always been a jeans and t-shirt guy. Some things never change, I suppose.
As you may have noticed on the banner below, there is a new t-shirt pre-sale up in the online store. I have to say, I am pretty happy with the finished product and I hope it floats your boat as well.

Goota admit, I rocked the mullet for a couple of
years in the late 80’s
Darn if only i could rock the magnum stash 🙁
There was a point eight or so years ago at which I had a mohawk, a fairly short one, but it was obvious enough. I cringe thinking back to it.
Ive dabbled in the hair dye. Ive tried lighter blonde, hair red, black, and even a permanent green for St. Patricks Day one year.
Suffice it to say my hair has remained the same color for the past 6 years and shall continue to do so for a while.
Wow, Detroit Tigers cap? Was 98 before or after they opened the new Commerica Park?
Oh, I have horror stories although I’m proud of them – if that makes any sense. At two points during college and graduate school, I grew the top of my hair out past my shoulder while shaving the sides extremely short. I took a cue form Jason Newsted of Metallica (and one of the dudes from the short-lived TV show, Catwalk).

It was bad. I went to graduate school interviews with this hairstyle, which still amazes me. I rarely wore it down, so I was routinely rocking a curly samurai ponytail. It as the late 90s and early 00s. We all make mistakes!!
@Iddy: I had the same style for about 2-years for exactly the same reason. Newsted’s Unite!
Brian, sweet! I see that style every once in a while now, and each time I’m tempted to go up and shake the guy’s hand. I’ve seen it on a few girls too, which is another sort of weird fascination moment.
I started playing Skyrim last night, and perhaps influenced by this recent discussion, my Orc is rocking the pulled-back Newsted. 🙂
