Did…did they literally rip his bear off? If this stuff is cool up at the Pole then Christmas politics are brutal. I believe we need a new mini series in the vein of “Deadpool Kills the Marvel Universe” something like “Jeanie: All Elves Must Die!”
Plot-Sense is tingling.
It’s telling me we’re going to have a huge showdown in not one but two metaplot-arcs.
But, Brian, I wouldn’t want to be in your skin this time… such huge baiting (with Trevor being a GM and Bretts beating up) needs a MASSIVE finale.
So Brett, a jerk yes but not evil, after one year of having the mantle and he has to face letting it get stripped from him? Yet this same court lets Klaus run rampant for years, something is off here, or there’s a retcon coming.
christmas was like 3 months ago. Just fucking put all this shit up at once and get on with the comic. I always hated the christmas mythology in this strip anyway.
Here’s the thing: I don’t know if you were out of the loop but I was hurt pretty badly right as this arc started in November and it sidelined me for a while. That said, I love Christmas (and the mythology I create for it in this comic) but more importantly, I did not want to gloss over the arc or do a flash forward. I want to do this arc, so I am doing it.
I’m sorry that you do not enjoy what I am doing here and if it really is that off-putting for you, take a step back and check back in around mid-April. The arc will be over and we’ll be moving on to the next thing.
Man I’d hate to see where beating up Santa puts you on the Naughty list. I don’t take Brett as the sort of guy who’s going to settle for stuffing their stockings with a fist full of coal… At least not in a literal sense.
My crazy imagination is starting to run away with me….. a strip or two ago, it had the word engagement in it.
Now, we see Brett leave an “ornament” on the table for Jeanie…. I under stand why he didn’t arrive until she went to sleep (you can’t see Santa arrive, so she needed to go to sleep).
Now, go with me on this (and may not even be what Brian is planning), what if the ornament actually has hinges on it and opens up to reveal an engagement ring?!
Like the only way Brett is told he can keep the mantle and be Santa is if he takes a Mrs. Claus? Hence “Higgins”‘s sneering remark to calling Jeanie a sl*t/concubine to him.
Actually, in hindsight, i think we should have figured somethign like this was going to happen, considering how much Higgins looked like a miniature Klaus.
