One Night in Xag: Epilogue
Chapter: Season Six
And this officially winds down the first session of the group’s new campaign.
You may be asking yourself, “why is it Christmas in this strip?” and the answer is this: My freelance schedule and a borked computer jacked up my schedule a lot at the end of 2015 so it is technically still Christmas time in the d20Monkey timeline. Does this mean we’re still getting a Christmas arc? Yes, I will rolling into the Christmas arc next… in February. No, it does not bother me. If it offends you, write a letter to the d20Monkey Team and I’ll have Emma file it.
So, Wednesday brings the first installment of the new arc! See you then!
HOVER-TEXT:Haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaappy Dumpling. HAPPY HAPPY DUMPLING! EAT US UP! YUM!
Fish heads, fish heads, roly poly fish heads. Fish heads, fish heads, eat them up, yum!
The happiest of dumplings! So happy! 😀
I’d put hard money down on a “Happy Dumpling” logo shirt.
Happy happy happy happy yum yum yum
“I will honour Christmas in my heart, and try to keep it all the year. I will live in the Past, the Present, and the Future. The Spirits of all Three shall strive within me. I will not shut out the lessons that they teach!†― Charles Dickens, A Christmas Carol
What a Scrooge. 😛

Now I want a video of Emma filing the complaint letters
yeah I recall all that, so I wasn’t asking, you had it rough at the end of last year my friend, then again you could be like me, I can build a system and usually have a few laying around. But other than that I’m physically messed over after a few accidents and such, so I’m not exactly in great physical shape.
So now that Sam is no longer the DM, why can’t Amy join the group again? Heck, whatever rule was there is already broken now that Jeanie and Brett are in there together.
It’s because Jeanie is only DM until Sam recovers emotionally from his leg.
Which, unless I miss my guess, wouldn’t be in the middle of a campaign arc. Amy would be plenty safe to game with her beau until he takes over again. RP’ing together is a great couples activity.
I’m thinking letting your SO into the group, only to drop them once you’re better wouldn’t be the best of moves, especially when the group is such a huge part of your life (and the SO is aware of this significance). While it would be cool while it lasted, going from “valued member of the team” to “gone” might leave a bad taste in ones mouth.
Plus, they’ve already done gaming together with the other ladies, so that’s kinda their RP-ing thing.
Eh. I still think she could be a part of this, because it seems like she’s the only one of the “main crowd” not allowed at the table.
I actually clapped out loud and said, “Yay! It’s his Christmas arc! …in February!” 😀
Oh Brian… you silly silly man. Anyone who has a problem with the timing of your Christmas arc can email me at davemaypc@gmail.com lol Much appreciation my artistically superior friend!
I heart soup dumplings.
I say bring on Christmas in February!
The last time the Christmas arc came out of season, I rather liked it. It made it feel more like a natural piece of the story, rather than a seasonal side track.
…. I feel festive. In February, with a driveway made of mud and cold rain, I feel festive. That is some /superior/ “setting the scene for the next arc with an interlude work, sir!
Considering that Jesus’s birthday is likely to be any date as it is the date of Saturnalia, there’s no reason not to celebrate Christmas in February or March for that matter
Actually, rather than being wholly unknown, Jesus’ birth is generally accepted to have occurred in the spring. One reason for this deduction comes from little details in biblical verses, such as Luke 2:8, “And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night.” This seemingly innocuous statement actually helps pin down Christ’s birth, as in that time shepherds did not normally spend the nights in the fields with their sheep, except during the times when pregnant ewes were likely to give birth, known as the “lambing season”, which generally fell in the March-April timeframe.
So depending on how long this Christmas arc lasts, by the time it finishes up the timing may be just about right!
However, the current practice is not based on earlier (or even later) pagan practices such as saturnalia, but is based on the ancient Jewish tradition that great prophets die on the day of their conception.
Dammit Brian. Now I want dumplings. Or Mystery Christmas Mounds (cookies? Home-made dumplings?) on a plate.
I think the only thing cooler than having a flying sleigh for your ride that can travel anywhere in a single night would be a T.A.R.D.I.S.
Hey, Santa’s sleigh can not only visit every house in the world (give or take a few naughty kids) in one night, but is big enough on the inside to carry enough presents for them all. What makes you think it isn’t a TARDIS?
Christmas in Feb? No. Santa, elves, magical DMs, yeah ok. That’s believeable. But this? C’mon!
Suddenly I have an urge to see how the d20 Team processes letters, including Emma’s filing technique.
The Christmas Arc has been a tradition for years. Why stop now?
Besides, don’t mess with Emma. Ever.
I am SO happy to see Carlos eating and laughing with Trevor and Charlie. Happy dumpling, happy happy dumpling.
Seriously, every time you depict his adorkable self fitting in and being loved, it’s heartwarming.
