Everybody wants Dove to get punched, but that would mean that he would win. If they have to resort to physical violence, he becomes a martyr and his whole ‘they are ganging up on me’ schtick becomes believable. The way to beat Dove is to use his own strengths against him and show him that his style is not the ‘correct’ way to play but that he needs to acknowledge that group play is about taking each other’s strengths and weaknesses, accepting them, and using them to have fun. Dove would be an awesome member of the group if he could learned to play well with others. That’s how you beat a Dove. /steps off of soapbox
That’s all well and good for real world jackasses where you can get in trouble for resorting to violence (with the exception of nazis…always punch them)….but it’s a comic…repercussions are fictional…it’s what a lot of people want…
I can see it ending with a side to side panels were the whole cast including a redeemed Lee are eating pizza and haveing fun. And another were Dove is all alone waiting for peeps that won’t show.
actually in the real world, most jackasses will just act like jackasses until you pound the fucking jelly out of them, going from previous experiences. if harsh corrective action doesn’t come their way, they just plod along assured in their own bullshit superiority until consequences inevitably come along.
it’s about knowing your target. dove needs his ass beat.
If nothing else, I do like to see that, just like all bullies, Dove folds when faced with any real amount of push-back. Underneath all that arrogance, he’s a coward.
(Also, Dove’s face gets a 12/10 for punch-ability from me.)
Mental image of Lee sitting at a desk in a control room, surrounded by monitors, his elbows resting on the desk in front of him, fingers steepled in front of his face. The front monitor’s light reflecting ominously on his shades as he says, to the sound of dramatic background music: “Initiate the Final Phase!”
Not sure I agree with the ‘in the closet’ shaming…doesn’t seem a move a someone who has worked through that phase of their life would do…even to an enemy…
D20Monkey is great, don’t get me wrong…just shows some of the weaknesses in our society and how we deal with conflict…and accept it …no…don’t even notice it.
In the original draft of the script, I went back and forth on whether or not I would have Trevor make that comment, but ultimately decided to leave it in.
This might be a bit of a spoiler (and that is ok), but it is not a throw away line and it is something Trevor will address. I know in this form it is tough to see where the story is going when it is post-to-post, but I promise that Trevor/I absolutely do not mean to offend or shame.
I only ask that you give me a bit of time to show you where this is going.
Shaming is a cultural force used to keep a culture intact. Yes, it does get abused, as ALL forces available to humans do (DUH).
We have gone a LONG LONG LONG way in this society towards trying to remove shame as a useful tool… well, sort of. Mostly, we’ve just radically altered who is able to use it, and for what topics.
The problem is that we haven’t REPLACED it (and I’ve seen no suggestions for what actually can, short of physical force). Say what you will about how beneficial that is for the moment, the long term effect is massive societal upheaval. That is ALWAYS bad. EVERY. TIME. The number of beneficiaries of this change is MUCH MUCH MUCH smaller than the number of people who will suffer for it. If you actually value all people, that is NOT a win.
Whelp….I’m scared again.
“Dove is still the most punchable face I draw.”
Oh, could my hope of hopes be fulfilled, will Dove get knocked the fuck out?!?!
If Dove gets punched, I want Dallas to do it! No—Sam! No—Trevor! No—Jeanie!
Well, hell. I cant decide.
…but—and I’m just spitballin’ here—what if there is a dramatic change of heart, and LEE does it?
All of them fuse into one massive fist and then punch
Santa Claus is punchiiiiiiing….. That Clown
I’m kinda hoping for the Monty Python foot coming down from the heavens and crushing him

Let them fight.
The way to beat Dove is to make him play Twitch Plays Pokemon, apparently.

If only there was someone who dealt with complete assholes, someone with a wicker basket and goat hooves
“Attention all gamers….”
*Dove takes a slow breath*
“Warhammer figs are now half off.”
and hopefully dove gets trampeled in the impending stampede.
Dove’s Journal.
“We have barricaded ourselves in the store rooms, but I do not know how long the door will last, the neckbeards rage, rage in the deep”

I……um…..I was wrong about whos in charge here……Holy….shit

We aim to please (or, more often, to misbehave!)
The living embodiment of backpfeifengesicht.
*Checks dictionary* Ah, punchability. Spot on.

Brian, love the dark miasma around Lee. Your art has been improving a lot lately. Keep up the work sir!
Oooooooo! Somebody’s feeling JIIIIIILTEEEED … [/Trevor_voice]
😀 😀 😀
Lee is going through some things. We will see/learn more as the story develops.
