Aww man… this year really is sucking. This is one of my favorite web comics. There is another one or two that are ending this year. Can it be 2021 already? Please?
Alright, santa is real, magic is real, DM’s are guardians of narrative superpowers – all fair enough. But my suspension of disbelief fails at the prospect of police being helpful in TYOOL 2020.
Eh. Most of the time, most cops are good people who do the right thing. (Just like everybody else.) And Officer Clark has saved the day in this strip before, so I’m excited to see her. She deserves to be ’Santa’s Helper.’
And for the few who are bad (and the rest who remain silent)? Well, this world has Krampus, too. Hee-hee.
For every bad cop out there, there are at last 5 more who would take a bullet to save a civilian. Please do not take the minority of bad cops and lump every cop in with them. Far to many doing that already. It is a tough job that does not really pay all that well. I try to judge each person on their own merit and actions rather then those of others.
Guys… don’t focus on the politics of the statement. What Imrix did here is the typical “where’s a cop when ya need one?” joke. It’s just slightly modified to be edgy and topical. They might as well have typed, “Where’s a cop when you need one. Oh, look, here comes one now.”
This thread stops or I’m locking comments on the whole post. This isn’t a place for point/counterpoint on an issue that, while needs discussion, tends to bring out ugly passions.
Oh gawd a thought just crossed my mind while reading this again. What if Officer Clark is a guardian similar to Emma? Not just a regular human? She protected Sam from that bully pretty easily, shes warning Joe to shut down early for the night like shes knows something is happening, the long period if time we havent seen or heard from her. Perhaps she is either a guardian like Emma? Or is actually Emma? I’m sure the next few pages will tell us!
Usually in the event of supernatural monster attacks, the role of the cops tends to be relegated to “NPCs who show up, put up a bit of a fight, and then get destroyed and stomped on to demonstrate how high-level the monster really is”…
Hoping it’s different here. From Officer Clark’s previous appearance, I suspect she’s taken a few levels in badass.
(Also, maybe Charlie will get another birthday present!) 😉
Well slap my ass and call me Randolph.
Hell yeah. Knowing the end is coming, I’d been wondering if/when she was ever gonna show up again.
Who is this again?
First Appearance here: https://d20monkey.com/comic/uh-oh/
Heh. Checked out that link, and clicked ahead a few to get to “this is your dick, isn’t it?” Coffee in the keyboard. Again.
Wait, Did I miss something? The end is comng?
Brian has been saying for weeks now that he’s closing up the stories for this group and going to start an IGS comic.

No, no, you don’t want to put fire anywhere near the butthole after eating that.

No, I was directly alluding to modern US police being murderous, bigoted bastards who do more harm than good.
And thread locked. Thanks everyone.

Awesome to see Officer Clark! I was just thinking about her after doing a binge read.
I’ll miss D20. It’s my favourite gaming comic, and one of the only two I read anymore. Awesome work, Brian!

Sure, but this cop has a name and purpose beyond mere cannon fodder. She ain’t dying anytime soon. 🙂
