Is That a Dice Tube in Your Pocket
Chapter: Comics, Season Five
He’s not wrong…
I love Charlie’s style of advice/support. Real talk laced with a joke.
Sorry for the later post this evening, everyone. I am in the middle of a deadline freelance-wise. I have to take on this kind of work to transition out of my day job and open up more hours for comics, Exploding Rogue, and freelance work. Plus, it is fun work in the gaming industry, which I love dearly. My store, ads, and Patreon help a lot but I am not quite to “turn in my notice” status yet. Soon.
Thanks for your patience.
Hover-Text: It’s better than using your boner to move the minis, I guess. So I hear…
You’ve heard wrong, my friend… *Sage nod*
Depends on the size of the boner
I reserve that for “Solo Runs”
Ugh tell me about it. This is why I never have both my friend and his girlfriend over at the same time for weekly game night. She’s fine but he just can’t keep his hands off of her and when he does she rarely tries to stop him.
I hope for they’re sake they’re teenagers.
Why? Good for them if they’re passionate. It’s up to other people to tell them to knock it off or take it elsewhere, and they can decide for themselves what’s more important.
Jeesh I read that as his friend and his girlfriend. As in GB’s girlfriend
I thought, that’s pretty rude if you invite your friend over and he can’t keep his hands off your girlfriend, plus she’s not stopping him.
Yeah, but there’s a time and a place. Also, I imagine that sort of thing could be pretty awkward for everyone else at the table.
Well, it seems like another extreme YMMV situation. I guess that’s where the “up to other people to tell them to knock it off” comes in. I mean, if it’s not interfering with the game, and the other players don’t have a problem with it, why not good for them?
I don’t always dm but when I do, I’m naked.
+1
POINT. SET. MATCH.
Brian you put up a fantastic gaming comic for us to read for free. Take as long as you need good sir. It will surely be worth the wait.
I would like to see Dallas join, but i think it will be Carlos in the end.
I’m somewhat curious to know how Dallas is doing myself. It’d be a little sad if she was angry at Sam for outing her (and the subsequent death of her writing career, it seems), in addition to Dove for being Dove.
On that note, I’m pulling for Carlos. Carlos-Hulk makes me happy 😀
I don’t think her writing career is dead by any stretch; hit a rough patch of road to be sure, but still moving forward. The only way it’ll die is if she abandons it. Granted, that’s a possibility as it looks like she hasn’t formed the thick skin required to accept criticism, but then who of us at her age had that going for them? I think she’ll come around, especially when other folks who aren’t a bunch of “hashtag GamerGate” choads ( anyone else notice that?) will come to her support, especially in the tough love dept.
Personally, I think that Denise needs a swift kick in the pants to get over her funk; who do you think should it?
Just to clarify – the gamer gate movement is supposed to be focused on gaming media outlets being held accountable for misusing their influence as journalists. Yes, there are a lot of misogynistic people who identify as gamer gate supporters, but stamping out feminism is not and should not be the focus of it.
I won’t argue about it here because I respect the author too much, but I’d ask that you’d not drag that dirty laundry here.
Her career may not be dead, but she has enough of a reason to think it is. She came out, and her new game tanked. It’s not unlikely that she would consider this cause and effect, and if it was true that that was an issue for her career, it’s one she can’t really do anything about. Once you’re out, you’re out. And when talking about how she’s doing, what she thinks the situation is is more important that what the reality is.
Funny you should mention those two…
Spoilers! Spoilers! *covers ears* aaaaahhhhh
But yeah that would be amazing. Dallas has always been one of my favorites, and like (I believe) so many of you readers Carlos really won my affection in that last arc.
I think Charlie might be my favourite character, he reminds me of a guy I used to game with. He also gave good advise punctuated by a joke or slightly “off” comment.
My old DM and his girlfriend would occasionally smooch at the table. That was fine. What wasn’t fine was when that smooching devolved into sloppy makeouts and under-the-table fondlings during game. I think she actually gave him a hand job to completion once if his vocal reactions were any indicator, but I wasn’t about to look under the table to find out.
A situation like that calls out for the ‘chewing-gum rule.’
“Did you bring enough for everybody?”
I guess I’d like to think this wouldn’t be a problem. I’m a gamer and I play in games both with and run by my fiance. We keep our romantic relationship separate from our characters and we don’t bring our fights to the table. And I’d like to think all gaming couples are like that.
But I supposed Evil Sam has cropped up before, so it’s more than an idle concern on Charlie’s part. I have three rotating groups I game with and I’d be upset of any of them fell apart.
Yeah, but Amy is a true gamer. I think she’d be offended by the very concept of getting special treatment from her BF. But yeah, break ups can make the group fall apart fast…
