Hope Never Withers – Part Seven
Chapter: Season Nine
Update: The story resumes on Friday, everyone and rolls straight through to the conclusion. I had to get some freelance jobs sorted and prepare for the end of the year.

Oh shit son…
My sentiments exactly.
That looks…ominous…
*Cue ominous latin chanting*
Brian, it’s the little touches that make this work. Specifically, that a barefoot. . . witch? hag?. . . walks by putting the ball of her foot down on the ground first.
I can exactly see her gait and movement in the first two panels based on that, alone.
Is she within a metaphysical space/existence or just communicating long distance OR just being ominous lol
That first panel. My FSM.
I just realized that the Wither Witch/Daughters of Yaga sent a severed hand as a declaration of war, and Doctor Stevens is missing an arm… If I remember correctly she was already missing it when she was introduced. Could it be from a previous confrontation with the Wither Witch? They sure seem to know each other… Admittedly the hand/arm thing could be a coincidence but I can’t help but wonder if Doctor Stevens was affected by whatever it is the Wither Witch does and had to be amputated in order to avoid it spreading to the rest of her body.
Dr. Stevens is missing her left arm, and based on the previous comic (where she’s poking it with her pen), it appears that the severed hand is a right hand.
Good thinking, though. Certainly would have been an interesting connection.
Actually, went back and looked. It is indeed a LEFT HAND from the looks of it. Wonder if that’s a connection?
It’s definitely a left hand the first time we see it based on the thumb position. It’s drawn as a right hand the most recent time. I’m confused. Brian, why do you torture me like this?
It is a mistake. I draw from right-to-left and flip images when they are completed. This time, I forgot to flip that panel. It is the left hand.
I have corrected the mistake.
The plot thickens!
Too much exposure to Manga? Or just a leftie like me that can’t draw the other way without smearing something?
In Part 5, it was a left hand. In Part 6, it was a right hand. What gives?
It’s called an honest mistake. It’s fixed now.
holy shit dude. Your artwork is fucking amazing!
Well… That can’t be good… 😮
