Amen to that. I was introduced to CoC with a layered, well-thought-out character, with aspirations, plans, and his own agenda.
He didn’t last the session. Tried to save someone when he should have just cut and run. He was dragged into a pit, screaming and insane, into whatever not-so-tender designs Yog-Sothoth had for him.
By the way, do you have any other information on the worldbuilding you did for the Knights of Salem and such? I am having a blast with your Karthun setting, and was wanting to change things up a little around with the locals.
Oh, man, this is gonna be good.
It’s also really crazy going back and looking at the first 2 arcs and seeing how much your art has improved and evolved over the years.
Ok, how do people manage to get enough light to see a character sheet with candles? I’d love to try it, but I’m just not sure how to make it work. Any suggestions?
Just don’t stare directly into the candles and ruin your night vision. The human eye has a mirrored layer similar to a cat’s, and a similarly sensitive retina. The only reason most have trouble seeing in the dark is because they use too many artificial light sources, or worse, those ridiculous flashlight things…
We need to make that “Hat of Many Eyes” a reality!
Oh my god… someone made it happen!

Yep, love d20, I couldn’t resist.
Oooh, ooh, ooh. Three lines and I want to play this campaign
Spelling correction: in the third section, second bubble down, I assume you meant ‘Particularly’. Just letting you know!
Great start, can’t wait….
Okay, what are the odds that Sam’s character survives this session? Because so far, he’s 0 for 2.
well it IS Call of Cthulu, having your character bite the big one is more or less an expectation.
And is usually not the worst-case scenario, either.
“Well, at least I’m ONLY being torn apart into chunks!”

It was a little disheartening.
What. . . What is that grey thing behind Jeanie? It looks like a stone thing? A sleeping walrus?
…Do you mean the wall? Outlined in curtains?
I missed Amy.
Took the liberty of spec’ing up The Hat of Many Eyes as an Ars Magica simple magic item – ref: https://ironboundtome.wordpress.com/2018/10/09/crazy-magic-item-hat-of-many-eyes-by-d20monkey/
Gaming by candlelight is a special kind of amazing. Just make sure you can still read the character sheets.
Shoggoth hat??? 😮
Have I mentioned I love Amy?
It has been too long. 🙂

Omg, thank you! I’ve been wishing for another arc of the Society!
Shall Cadwell make return? )
The Sound I made upon reading this page was not manly, and possibly only audible to dogs and dolphins. I regret nothing, and eagerly await the rest.
Damn, Jeanie is bringing her A game.
Oh, man, this is gonna be good.

i’m so excited for this arc, but where are they meeting? i thought the game was gonna be trough E-mails and wanted to see how you’re gonna handle it

I’ve done it for Cthulhu and Dread sessions. You just need lots of candles, preferably elevated.

Amy looks so much like a blond version of my Fiance! 🙂 And she loves Lovecraftian RPGs. =D
