This arc continues to be awesome.
Is there any chance for an IGS compilation, either print or PDF? It would be great to have those arcs bundled together.
Well, SOMEBODY’S about to be on the receiving end of one hell of a fireball (or some other fire based attack)
Considering at least one ifnthese ancestors appears to be made of rock, I’ll bet on skipling fire entirely and going right to magma fun times.
I think that’s just one of the busts commemorating previous members… though, with this particular development, perhaps “commemorating” isn’t quite a strong enough word.
And suddenly, the Wither Witch is not quite so supremely confident of her inevitable victory …

But, at what cost will this aid be given? Certainly, not FREELY … that just never happens in Call of Cthulhu. There is _always_ a cost …
Also, I jut noticed that the rough-in, at least, was mirrored – everyone on the left, has a direct, close parallel on the right. 🙂 Then slightly different details were added (the two ladies with buns, have different noses, for example).
Yeah, being totally honest I was dead tired when I reached this part of the page but I wanted to push through. I do not mind using little shortcuts on occasion, but this one is big and it does bother me, so I will be going back in to rework the spirits this week.
Since she is calling her ancestors, the mirroring helps maintain the appearance of that family line. There is no shame in using short cuts in places where they fit this well.
The implication is that this is possible because they are in this “place of power”, and even then, she has had to be driven to the very edge of defeat and beg for aid… it may just be “this is OUR house” aid – basically, free, the cost being “get the big bad to come fight on your home territory”.
Oh man, I came to read the comments to see who the ladies with the buns were because it’s been so long since i read the whole series through and they looked familiar. Thought maybe she was one of the original characters and was some how accidentally mirrored in (No idea how that could happen but sometimes people slip up and make a weird mistake.) Didn’t notice the noses or the fact that all of them look similar until you said something.
Yep, that lot look… rather cross.
