My hope is that Dove’s reputation as a douchebag will keep people out of his store. It’s good to have hope.
Alternatively, it will gather all the douchebags into one place, for a more convenient punching.

I’m torn between instinctual hatred for Dove & a desire that he be developed beyond the single-dimension he currently occupies. The best villains are complex.

It is a mistake to believe that other nerds are never also bigots or would care that the shop was owned by one.
I’ve been having a little freakout that the owner of a restaurant I used to patronize regularly is apparently a Trump fan. Fan but not voter, afaik, because we’re not in the USA. But I am glad they were too foolish to keep that off their business Twitter, because now I know.

I dunno… I’ve never seen a gaming shop worth a damn that would allow bigotry in its halls.
Maybe I’ve just been lucky, and I should be happy about that, at the very worst…
I guess the qualifier of “worth a damn” is subjective, as anyone concerned about whether the shop is friendly and welcoming to all or only to a narrow set of potential customers is going to say a shop that’s doesn’t meet those criteria ain’t worth a damn, yet many manage to find enough business to stay open. The online resources rating gaming stores on their inclusiveness are very telling.
I am so glad to have gaming and comic shops where I live where I’ve never felt uncomfortable for a moment, but can I see how it happens? Oh hell yeah.
That depends whom you would consider the bigot though subjectively, the person willing to give Trump a chance who thinks independently and realizes that the regular news has been trying to feed an unsubjective and often bigoted look at the current President or the other side of the coin which has not only shown itself to be bigoted and so full of hate they’ve started fires, attacked those who disagree and have been constantly trying to tell others that they have no right to freedom of speech. I’m a fairly open minded person myself and I do not like people trying to tell me what to think. Most of all I really hate bullies who attack people, steal cars, scalp mentally disabled people, scream and yell that someone is a racist when they really aren’t, beat people nearly to death, start fires, and so on. All of these things are being done by the no Trumpers. Not a single one of these things has been done by those whom are proTrump. Actions do speak much louder than words as far as I’m concerned and as long as you have no Trumpers being bullies and doing such horrid, evil and yes, bigoted things I can not agree with them at all. I have always believed you are marked by your actions not by hearsay. The so called real news, which Trump himself has been calling the fake news has only been spreading rumors without any substance. They keep repeating stuff over and over which people have come out and proven are outright lies. Yet they can’t get off of their train of thoughts and change their tactics. I look at what people do, not what is said about them. In Trump you have a person who has actually helped many people without once asking for anything in return, he even helped rebuild New York after 9-11. Never did he ask for anything in return.I took the time to learn everything about both candidates during the election. Neither one of them was a great choice. So far however, Trump has been keeping his word and the regular media hasn’t even reported that much truth. Can you honestly say they’ve given an unbiased view of what’s going on and look at yourself in the mirror? Look at what both sides are doing, actually look. I did, I can’t stomach the horror that the Democrats are showing themselves to be. As for the ban on certain countries to travel here, Obama came up with that list of countries and legally the courts are violating the law and trying to give themselves power they legally do not have. Keep in mind that the 9th district court has a record of 80% overturned verdicts, 80% of the time they are fully and absolutely WRONG This means that only 20% of the time they make an unbiased and correct decision which isn’t overturned. I’m not saying this because I like Trump. I’m saying this because when both Bushes, Clinton, and yes even Obama did some of the same things, including kicking illegal Aliens out of the country nobody said one single thing about it, but when Trump did the exact same thing for the Exact same reason everybody turned against him. I’m saying it because they’ve been out to get him since before he even entered the office. I’m saying it because like everybody else who enters the office and wins the position we should give him the benefit of the doubt and allow him they chance to prove himself. I feel total and absolute shame for all of those rioting against him because they show themselves to be everything they claim he is and prove it by their actions. If they are what they say he is and he does not do one single thing that he does, what would that make him? The opposite of what they claim by their own actions. To everyone here I apologize, I normally don’t talk politics, I hate talking it to be blunt but I’ve gotten tired of so many people being so very negative without just cause.
On a different note though, Dove is totally a bigot and I hate him with a passion. He was made to be that way though and I have a great deal of respect for Brian for making such a hateful character pretty much everyone loves to boo. We all know what Dove is and are all most likely waiting for that unerringly massive moment when he finally falls. You just know the longer the buildup to that moment the larger it will be when it finally happens.
Trump is a bigot. Misogyny, racism, Islamophobia, removing protections for Transgender students, packing his cabinet with bigots, you can’t defend him.
Blaming the media is especially absurd, since they’re just reporting what he’s said and done. No lies, no fakes, honest reporting shows Trump for the monster he is.

Just let it go, I am, its over, he got away with it while he was in office. their are a whole lot of other things that would have, could have, should have made him ineligible to hold office and yet the obviously biased media didn’t report any of it because they wanted him in office, just like they started the Spanish American war. Dove ain’t the brains of this little operation; I’m pretty sure he considers retail beneath him and wouldn’t have thought of it anyway. No, this is the brainchild of whomever picked him up after he was DQ’d from the tourny for unsportsmanlike conduct. And I’m willing to bet that they’ll be undercutting the Den, price-wise, to attract customers. This is all assuming he actually has anything to do with the Game Haus, of course. And the name might be a little too on the nose considering who Brett’s unfortunate relation is.
We’ll see how it goes, though it’s going to interesting to see if Philly-boy here can keep from being a hatefull-ass towards the customers. Funny thing is, when word gets around that the face of all that’s wrong with the local gaming scene is there, it’ll definately start souring a sizable number from going in.

Their are much better things to do to him actually. If you prove him to be a liar and an unjust judge of games, along with highly vindictive in ruining reputations when he is caught cheating and can show the evidence to all of the above you can ruin his reputation like he did to Sam’s new employee. After all what goes around comes around and their is a whole lot of bad karma heading toward Dove because of everything he has done since the start of the comic.

yeah I hated him from the first time you drew him Brian, but I’m not as nice, I wouldn’t punch him…. I’d drop kick him…. HARD.
Wait until all of the jerks are gathered together, chain the doors, and burn the store down.
Who picked him up was working for the same person who murdered the Easter Bunny, or works for the same person as the person who murdered the Easter Bunny works for. Take your pick on that one, their all on the same side. As for what happens next, Dove is too far on the dark side and my guess would be that his store will fail if true karma holds out. Everyone in the area knows what the guy is so if Dove has any business it wil be from outsiders to the area. Anyone who comes from the area itself will not go there. At least nobody who knows he is an outright cheat like everyone that was at a certain game and knows he’s a cheat after all the true store operators all spread the truth about that sitch.

The answer is both yes and no, If I recall Dallas used Dove’s dice in the last throw and it of all things came up a 20 again, matter of fact his dice hit nothing but 20s when we were talking about his 20 sided. She then accused him of using a loaded dice and Dove then claimed that Dallas must have switched them or tampered with them. He then went on to say he was gong to black ball The new game book which Dallas had written and that was how Dallas lost everything and came to be working for Sam Tigh now. With all the nasty,a nd evil things which Dove has done since he first came around his negative Karma is maxed out and waiting to strike him dead. I really mean that, truly bad karma can and has gotten people killed.
I think it should be noted that when Dove was accused of cheating, he offered his dice box, which was closed, and full. We didn’t see them packing up before he presented his box, only one of the dice it contained matches the color of the other dice we saw on the table, and if I’m viewing this correctly, it contains two D20s, one the same color as the one that was called into question.
One theory is the dice in the box was a bluff, he owns one loaded D20, and two normal ones. Most people would go to test the dice in the box, and he could conceal the illegal die while they’re distracted.
The other is that they were all loaded, and he was using it the same way one of my friends used to use his driver’s license to buy alcohol. My friend was under age, and the license showed that; however, no one actually checked the date on the license because he presented it calmly and confidently enough to convince them he was 18. In this case, Dove was presenting the box because he believed no one would actually contest him or his dice if he was confident enough to present them.
You can actually get away with a lot of things that way. There is only a very small amount of people that bothers checking papers in depth.
Personnally I think the most telling detail was that Dove wasn’t actually accused of cheating.
Dallas Rolled his dice by accident, then interrupted Sam as he was giving the consequences of her roll. Given how gamers can be about their dice I don’t think it would be out of question for a player to ask to reroll with their own die… expecially when the previous roll was a natural 20, it’s not like she’s using it as an excuse in the hope of getting a better roll.
But as soon as she interrupted Sam to point out that this is Dove’s die he immediatly asked her if she was implying that he cheated. And she only answered that it wouldn’t surprise her. She never actually accused him of cheating.
Also, the dice box Dove present cointain all blue dice (like the one Dallas used for that fateful throw), except for one grey D20, and Dallas used grey dice during the game… I think there was a switch, though on purpose or not I cannot say.
Later when he answer the “mysterious text” he has no real reason to tell the truth, eck the asker only “suggest” that he answer truthfully. Seriously I don’t think he got any roll beneath 19. While this is possible without cheating it’s still pretty unlikely.

Well, we can deal with Dove in two ways: 1. We can bash his fat fucking carcass with a baseball bat until candy comes out of him; 2. We set him and the store on fire and roast marshmallows over the burning ruins.

You know, I’ve always been a bit at odds with how terms like social justice, virtue signalling, triggering and other such terms have been turned into simplified, derogatory insults despite the fact these terms originate from complex scientific and sociological theories, the meaning of which is lost when they metamorph into trite mockery.
Now, here is the thing to remember, folks: this is the start of new story arc. A major storyline. Plot and stuff. It is going to go slowly, and develop in many ways. The whole webcomic will grow and be enriched.
What I’m saying is.. Dove is going to win.
Sam will be crushed. Bad things will happen. Evil will gloat as it triumphs. Dove’s douchery will go utterly un-punched. It will be a cascading waterfall of crap, much like that time on that cruise ship.
However… This isn’t the sort of webcomic to let thst stay. Good triumphs. Sam will win. Douchebag McShitlord will get his comeuppance, and all will have their chance to punch his face.
So, in the weeks – nay months to come, let us not wail and rend our garments over Dove winning. For this is the way of things, and leads only to his further destruction.
