Bravo, Brian! This arc has been amazing so far. Thanks for illustrating Sams struggle with depression so well. I hope Amy can help him out of his depressive hole. Also I would pay good money for a beholder balloon.
Their actually kinda cool, I’ve seen two types of them, the second has pose able arms so you can move them about into different positions. The first is just a blow up balloon.
I’ve been thinking about Amy for a little while. Lee was ostensibly worried about Sam becoming “a broken shadow of [their] father.” But Sam has both close friends and Amy while their father only seemed to have the store and “Dungeon Master”.
Which brings me to a curious question: where is Sam’s monther? She seems to be absent.
If Sam’s father was alone, having Amy will likely have a much larger impact on his life than any job.
I recall a strip a few years back that mentioned Sam’s mom sending him a copy of “Mazes & Monsters” for either Christmas or a birthday. The implication is that his parents developed serious philosophical differences over gaming.
Aye, it’s a shock and can further heighten the feelings of shame and loathing when what you thought was a private episode turns out to have a witness. We may see a knee jerk reaction (something along the lines of “I don’t want you to see me like this”) from Sam, but I expect Amy will understand and be the sort of support he desperately needs but is afraid to ask for.
Really!?! you have to go and elevate things don’t you! Seriously I’ve been on both sides, I’m fortunate to have a friend who’s been there when I needed no questions asked
Politics are everywhere, unfortunately its in the news constantly and being warped by those same individuals whom control the media so what we see and reality are often not the exact same thing, nor are they always the truth. Truth and politics are often never the same thing in fact so what politicians tell us rarely ever has any basis in fact or truth. Look at what they say carefully then turn around and look elsewhere to find what really is the truth, never trust it from their mouths, nor from the mouths of their representatives.
HOVER-TEXT: Eye Believe in You
THAT BEHOLDER BALLOON IS EVERYTHING
Someone must start making beholder balloons. I’d have them at every party.
Examination gloves and a marker
Obviously hand-made with love, too.
Cry if you need to Sam, get it all out, and then face your problems with spears raised.
Now, did she turn the sign on the door from open to closed after noticing Sam having his meltdown or does she have a key?
No, it’s been that way the whole time. Presumably, the store’s been closed while Sam settles in.
If it had been closed while he settles in then there would never have been a Cheetoes and Charizards tournament.
Either this happened prior to opening for the day (possible) or she flipped the sign so that he can melt down in private
Door was unlocked when he came back. She walked in.
I’m not disputing that the door was unlocked. And a look at panel 1 in https://d20monkey.com/comic/this-here-holler/ shows behind sam’s head the sign was already flipped.
Technical issues aside, the visceral reaction I had to reading this is terrifying and wonderful. Bravo sir
No, in that comic the “open” side is facing the inside (“Dragon’s Den” is backwards). Here’s a view from the outside: https://d20monkey.com/comic/new-employee/
In no way advising that Sam should run away but this is my strip soundtrack:

Only Amy would track down and acquire a beholder balloon with the caption “Eye believe in you.”
On a totally unrelated subject, when will it be available as a golf/polo shirt?

Christmas. It was right after the first Christmas arc (the one where Brett fought Santa, and by coincidence, when we first saw Lee).
Funny enough, I am getting to that soon (Sam’s Mother).
that horrifying moment you realize you’re not alone

Small correction: the wonderful moment when you realize you’re not alone.
yep

“More on Monday”? Sounds like the start of every week of Trump’s presidency.
Really? Politics? Here?

Some day she’ll see you at your worst.
