Harsh Reflections: Part Thirty One
Chapter: Season Six
Sorry for the drop off on Monday and Tuesday everyone but I came back from GenCon with the WORST Con Crud of my life. I am still sick, actually.
Thanks to everyone who came to my panels and stopped me in the halls to say nice things about my comics and freelance work. It made a fun convention ever better. Thank you all so much.
HOVER-TEXT: That shit is canon now. Also, I was *THIS* close to using Poison lyrics as part of her incantation.
Poison lyrics as part of an incantation would actually be kinda interesting. oO
I too support this idea. 🙂
Every roll has it thorn.
Well, there is a dude named Brett with long blonde hair in group….so does than mean Sam is Rikki Rocket or CC Deville?
Really hoping the con crud you ended up with was better than mine… I’m still sick as well. Just got my voice back. THAT SAID, it was excellent meeting you at the Saturday night panel! Very excited to see where the comic goes with all that you revealed.
Also, I read this comic a few days ago, and then today I went back to the table for the first time in a couple months with a new game. I swear I couldn’t roll above a 6 on anything. It was awful; luckily we had someone in the party who granted rerolls (often with bonuses), but man, it was rough, and I felt their pain.
The witch looks like she could be related to Brett. Magic run in the family?
I think that’s Brett’s aunt who helped them learn D&D with Pops, and was the most Sadistic DM any of them ever played under.
Huh, so that’s a thing now…neat. Does that mean that the Red Dragon running the fryer in the back of “The Bar” on 51st is real too?
What is it with conventions and disease? Have we gone from “All Fans Are Slans” to “No Fans Wash Their Hands?”
It’s a large group of people from different areas (so different pathogens) in a tight environment. It’s the same reason that students get ill the first week or so.
On top of which, attendees are generally out of their normal dining habits, messed up sleep schedule, and not getting enough water (the indy convention center can be rough in finding liquid, the restrooms I checked kept having faucets automatically on hot, though the hotels on the side were normally great about available H2O).
All of which can make people more susceptible to sick.
That’s why when I go to conventions I carry several containers of bottled water with me. That and I used to be in the boy scouts so I firmly believe in the motto, Always be prepared.
and thats why at cons you need to freebase airport and bring a case of hand sanitiser
I’m pretty sure Phillip Dove hired that witch a few months ago. Revenge….
Chill Brian. ’twas not the first time an update was postponed and it certainly won’t be the last. This is your site and we’re not your publisher, but readers. Relax!
This is when you cosplay a Gama World character in a level 4 bio suit….. This way you don’t get the con crud……
Oh man, those albums in the background are amazing!
When each individual dice roll looks like numbers in a Win 4 lottery game, it’s a problem.
That he needs to be so specific about which witch he’s talking about… how many witches are there?
You should read two series I was really into growing up and both just happen to be on Kindle now. The first is the “Spellsong Cycle” in which a singer from our world is pulled into another world where her music controls magic. The second one is called, “Spellsinger” which deals with a college student from our world who is pulled into a world where animals our as sentient as people and dress like humans(anthromorphic) and he finds out he can cast spells by playing an instrument and singing songs(rock specifically). Both series are very good and worth the time to read and both also cover creating magic by using music as the medium. Just thought you might find them both useful, maybe. and yeah I agree, great concept, a witch cursing their dice is so possible in this comic.
TANGO!
PAPA!
KILO!
I just want to say I really love this comic. I makes me feel so excited, especially when I have to miss my weekly D&D game.
One: Hope you’re feeling better.
Two: Sam Goody? Crap, haw far into the Eastern Time Zone are you?
Now that’s the Brett we know and love. Santa mantle or no Santa mantle, there’s nothing like a run of disaster to bring out his Angry Gamerâ„¢ side.
(Before anyone reminds me, yes, he was getting all up in the Iron King’s business, but that was more story/character related stuff. This is pure game griping.)
Get well soon, Brian!
Also, yyyyyyeeeeeeeaaaahhh, I sense Sam’s gonna have to do a team resurrect, or this’ll be the shortest session in history…
