Girl Talk
Chapter: Season Three
Characters: Brett Kringle, Trevor
Well that explains a few things with Brett’s slide back to asshole town. Wait… no. That’s not what I meant.
Some folks picked up on Brett going back to his old ways but I’ve tried to keep it subtle up to this point.
Oh, did you know that Project Ninja Panda Taco hit it’s funding on Thursday! I have to say, I am terribly grateful to folks for backing this one. I really wanted to do the art for the game and now I have the chance to do so. Thanks so much, guys and a HUGE congratulations to Jenn on her first successful Kickstarter.
The plot, it thickens!
Like a warm narrative gravy.
If the next series is about the risks of not using contraceptives, I’m out.
It happens, dude. Even among geeks and neckbeards. Knew a guy in HS it happened to, in fact: very into AD&D, very into SFB, daddy before he graduated.
I met my wife in a gaming group. We had our son in college (got married later). Definitely know it happens. :-). I was mostly joking. I’m sure Brian can make it funnier than it plays out in my head (and experience.)
I’m a gamer, have been for 23 years and counting, and I really like your comic. Just one thing really bothers me about it though and it is present here in this strip. I don’t really think you have known a lot of gay men in your life, because the one you have in your strip talks like an idiot. You might want to do a little research into it if you’re going to insist on including a gay male in your strip, and tone down the stereotype.
I guess I should tell that gay guy I used to be friends with (we stopped being friends because neither of us are good at long-distance friendships) that he’s just a stereotype? I bet that will go over well.
Actually, I know quite a few. That’s not confrontational or anything but Trevor talks the way he talks. If he were straight, he’d talk the same way (or damn close). That’s just the character. If he offends you, well all I can say is stick around if you like as more on Trevor and his more serious side is coming soon.
Also, I am giving this real thought. Trevor is over the top. I acknowledge that but I NEVER want him to be disrespectful. NEVER. I’ll be giving his dialogue a second glance just to make sure of that.
Whaaa? Some of us *are* idiots. Some of us are risible. I find I’m often both.
Not that I think Trevor is an idiot but…just because he’s gay and in the strip does not mean he must represent and signify each and every queerboy.
Being a gay man, and knowing several gay men who *do* speak that way, I think you’re taking offense where none is meant. Trev is one of those over-the-top divas that can breathe new life into any role-playing brofest (or any brofest, for that matter), and personally, I *love* that Brian has his flame set to “scorching”!
Fear not, Brian… as a dedicated reader and gaymer, I give Trevor 3 snaps in a T formation!
Gaming with children becomes EXTREMELY difficult. First you’re trying to get four or five adults’ schedules to align, and then you have to make sure you can get a babysitter. If yours can’t sit, well, then you end up cancelling the game or with kids wanting to play along or play with your dice, eating all your snacks (and gassing you out of the room-true story), and forcing you to tone down your game, if you’re the type of group that likes to curse or be violent.
dammit, this one went up there a few comments.
I read your post and wsehid I’d written it
