Five-Oh
Chapter: Season Ten
Characters: Clive, Officer Clark
Pages are going up a bit erratically as I finish up freelance projects, but pages WILL go up.
Thank you for your patience and I hope you are ready for Clark vs. Urlson.
For updates on schedules, random sketches, and news on other things I am doing, throw me a follow on Twitter.
Wouldn’t panel five be “gnats”? or is it an attempt at some sort of accent?
Seems to be just a typo, all the badass must have been in his eyes.
I want to go with some combination of knaves & gnats; they’re so unworthy of his attention that he specifically made a new word for them.
It’s already fixed.
… my money’s on officer Clark. She’s a badass.
No bet. She’s definitely got this.
I’ve got a feeling there is more to the Officer then has been said.
Officer Clark. Redhead, freckled, bespectacled (Does not have known vision issues. But also wears dark glasses at night).
Charles “Charlie” Thomas Clark. Redhead, freckled, bespectacled. At the top of the arc referred to as not having any family. Maybe that’s going to change? Or is that too obvious a plot option?
My money is they can do laser eye blasters
Whoa… i never thought of her being related to Charlie, esp with the last names… She does however have an awful lot of things tying her as a “Paladin” a missing class for this party
This won’t end well. For Urlson. He doesn’t even rate a tag.
“Worthless imposter”? I feel like I’m missing/forgetting something. Why would Clive refer to Trevor as an impostor here?
I’m fairly certain he is referring to Trevor, since it is clear Clive showed up targeting the gang and explicitly greeted Trevor when he made his appearance in this arc. Maybe its time for me to go back and bulk re-read the series…
Imposter is Brett in his eyes. He has half the mantle and Clive has never deemed him worthy.
… That makes much more sense. Thank you Inkognyto. I knew I was missing something obvious.
*cue Bob Seger: Shakedown*
Cheezit, the COPS!
That’s… a *lot* of blood.
I feel like our guys still have a few major cards to play…
I don’t see Brett going down in this fight in round one, never getting a chance to swing back. I feel like he’s going to be getting back up again. Oddly, I think a sincere round of “Here Comes Santa Clause” might put him back together since we’ve seen before that a sincere Humbug will hurt him to the point of bleeding.
There’s still the “poor Rudolph” with assist from the North Pole. In that same vein, the King of Seasons and help from other mantlebearers… basically off-stage help we haven’t seen yet.
We’re going to see Charlie cast a spell, that’s pretty clear. Just don’t know if it’ll be offensive, defensive, or healing.
And Sam’s got two cards to play… both the Narrative and his light saber cane. Although seeing what Josie can do with a board with a nail in it, I think I’d give the light saber to her. 😉
But Sam needs the cane to stand up on both feet D:
I don’t think the “Poor Rudolph” transmission went through. I thought Carlos was having difficulty getting Rory to respond?
Likely, but that doesn’t mean they can’t still try again. Or that if the King of Seasons and other mantlebearers are under attack, perhaps they’d come for Brett and crew once they dealt with their own attacks (if successful). The main point is there’s still the possibility of help from off stage that we haven’t seen yet.
The word Emma told Charlie to look for as she came downstairs was “Clypeus,” which is the broad plate at the front of a insect’s head. Given that, I think it’s safe to assume it’ll be defensive in nature.
I was wondering when the cavalry would arrive. Good to know the bag suy is still overestimating their chances.
*guy. (yeesh what a typo)
He called Officer Clark “primitive”… Them’s fightin’ words! 😉
*grabs popcorn and waits for the show…* 😀
Is the Corrupt Christmas Elf as I say.
Who says the “One more corpse” line in the final panel? The font was a bit different than the font used for Clive.
I think the text is just a little bigger. I read it as a continuation of Clive’s mustachio-twirling monologue.
We know he’s always been contemptuous of mortals, so his casual dismissal of officer Clark as a threat, and equally casual instructions to kill her would fit with his new powered-up behavior.
It is definitely possible, although the speech bubble for Clive came in from the left with all his other remarks.
Between the font change and the direction that the comment came in from, it suggests to me that it was a new speaker, hence my question. It will likely become real obvious in the next comic. 🙂
No Corpsing Sign is being ignoring, book’em!
