Dungeon Run: July 4th Break
Chapter: Comics, Season Five
Hello all! It is July 4th here in the States and with my girlfriend coming in to town for the weekend (long-distance relationships, AMIRITE?) I have decided to take the day off and enjoy the weekend. The Dungeon Run resumes on Monday.
In the meantime, check out this preview Favored Enemy: The Patriarchy art!
Have a great weekend!
Hover text? Okay here’s a joke. How did the mathematician cure his constipation? He worked it out with a pencil. PLAY US OUT RUDY!
WHY?!
*brain explodes*
Yeah…now i have the mental image of a stereotypical old math teacher eyeballing the pencils on his desk stuck in my head…thanks.
Anyways, yeah long distances can be tricky, mine comes in on the 8th so i understand the strain.
*banjo music and tap dancing*
i wish her an eale eye and an everfull quiver.
T-shirt and/or poster, please? Because that is AWESOME.
My wife is also hopping up and down and hoping for a t-shirt.
Seconded … T-Shirt Please 🙂
Happy 4th from a Canadian fan.
The awesome.
Is the Patriarchy some kind of faction in Karthun? I didn’t really get that joke, or this art.

In the modern sense, patriarchy is the social “structure” (that is, aggregate of social behaviours by humans) that supports the social, political, economic, and familial domination of adult males over other people (i.e. women and children, but also men who do not meet prevailing standards of “manliness”) in their social stratum (where prevailing standards of what constitutes acceptable masculinity/”manliness” obviously varies by social stratum).
While affluent North American societies are no longer de jure patriarchal (although many subcultures are explicitly patriarchal), it is still the case that, on balance, to be a man, and especially what I like to call a heteronormative man (that is, a man who does meet his social stratum’s standard for masculinity) is to be granted a number of social (and other) advantages over “not-men” (or men who behave too much like “not-men”).
I know over at Sinfest it’s been one of their sub-plots for a while. Especially once a fem-bot gained free will.
Here’s another pretty solid description, from one of my other favorite webcomics:

…. you’re gonna sell a lot of T-shirts.
Weird stuff.
T-shirt please – multiple colors – shut up and take my money 🙂
There is no picture.
Sad that the picture is missing…
OOPS! It was lost in the new site migration. It was just art for this t-shirt!
