Christmas Eve
Chapter: Season Four
Christmas Eve and still no Brett.
On the bright side, Jeanie is partaking in one of my actual rituals (a few of my favorite Christmas movies and big bowl of Doritos).
Commenters: Bonus points of you can name all three movies she watched and do YOU have any Christmas favorites?
Is it a bad thing when a comic make ME a little sad even when I know where things are going?
I think that’s probably a really good thing. Means you wrote a good story.
And Die Hard is the best Christmas movie, hands down.
The BEST Christmas movie.
And I do the best I can when it comes to stories. If folks have a response, I guess I did something right.
I was always more partial to Gremlins as my favorite/best Christmas movie.
1) White Christmas
2) Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back
3) Die Hard
My wife would have been proud of me now.
White Christmas (?), Empire Strikes Back, and Die Hard!
As for Christmas favorites, my family usually watches Christmas Vacation. I personally will watch horror movies. 😛
Never seen the first one…..know the other two by heart.
I’m not worried. Everyone knows Santa doesn’t show until you’re asleep.
Oh this is far to easy.
White Christmas, 1954. The scene is between Phil Davis and Bob Wallace.
Second one is Star Wars: Empire Strikes Back, 1980. The scene is on Cloud City, between Lando Calirissian and Sith Lord Darth Vader.
The third one is also iconic. Die Hard, 1988. The scene is a conversation over a 2-way “walkie talkie” between John McClane and Hans Gruber.

That hover text is -terrifying-
I second this.
Every Christmas I watch the MST3K episode of Santa Claus Conquers the Martians and The Great Escape. The order I watch them in depends on my mood.
Me too!!!! I actually have the original non MST3K version on VHS.
I also pull out The Original Star Wars Christmas Special… The Christmas in the Stars LP (Feat. Bon Jovi singing “R2 D2 We Wish You a Merry Christmas”) and the pixar / disney Prep and Landing Specials. 🙂
I’m not a very Chrstmassy person, but around that time Muppet’s Christmas Carol, Trading Places and Casablanca generally get an airing 🙂
Christmas favorites: All the claymation movies plus The Grinch. I make all the family youngins come over during Christmas break and feed them chocolate and caffeine while they attempt to watch the movies but mostly bounce off the walls. Then I send them all home.
The two i watch on Christmas are Badder Santa and 8 Crazy Nights. My mom’s tradition was the classic It’s a Wonderful Life and the usual clay-mation rotation.
Speaking of clay-mation, who else didn’t grow up with Heat Miser and Snow Miser. Movie is 7 years older than me but was never shown by stations near me when I was a kid. I got Frosty, Rudolph and Santa Clause is Comin’ to Town.
All of my favorite Christmas movies are on Super 8 and VHS.
Come on, like he’s going to show up BEFORE she falls asleep. Brett still has to follow the rules, especially if he’s being audited, right?
Didn’t identify the first one. Seriously… Do you have to ask about the other two?
“When Alexander saw the breadth of his domain, he wept for there were no more worlds to conquer…”
But… but where’s A Christmas Story, Brian?
He didn’t use it because you’ll just put your eye out.
Winner!
I love watching Die Hard on Christmas Eve! You’re the best, Brian.
White Christmas, Empire Strikes Back, and Die Hard. I’d feel more proud of myself if everybody else hadn’t already named all three. 🙂
My own Christmas movie traditions are also three. They’re a bit more traditional. 🙂
1. The Rankin-Bass animated “Rudolph, the Red-Nosed Reindeer”. It’s old, but still a classic.
2. The George C. Scott version of “A Christmas Carol”. Wonderful design, sticks close to the story, great music, and FANTASTIC acting from Scott, who still stands as the best portrayal of Scrooge ever.
3. The Mikhail Baryshnikov version of “The Nutcracker”. (I also attend our city’s production of the ballet each year, but this recorded version is superb).
cheers,
Phil
Food for thought, she could just be watching a Robot Chicken marathon.
White Christmas (one of my MUST watch Christmas movies),
Empire Strikes Back (why for Christmas, I don’t know),
Die Hard (Yippie-kai-yea)
December 24th, – 9 p.m. – Eastern Standard time. Here on in, I shoot without a script.
I can’t leave this alone now that I spotted it: Wookiee. Two O’s, two E’s
For Christmas, I personally watch National Lampoons’ Christmas Vacation, then Monty Python’s Life of Brian. Just to add a little bit of religion into the holiday.
