i really don’t . 9 out of 10 spin-off series/films/comics with “cute mascot characters” fall flat and are not really that interesting. the only good one i can Name so far is “Minions”
Then again this Comic had surprised me very often and made some pretty good jokes. maybe he could pull it off.
I have Ops and Tactics, tactical knowledge, and I can probably brainstorm many Holiday-themed enemies for them to face for elves operating operationally in Christmas Operations.
Time to get my DM robe and FAST Helmet on, it’s time to have my players operate in yet another game based around Winter.
I would guess that the grim-mantles are the eventual successors to Krampus. Krampus IS actually on the same team with Brett. Santa doesn’t actually deliver whips and coal to bad children, that’s Krampus’ job. Check out old German Christmas cards sometime… Krampus is right there on the sleigh with good ol’ Saint Nick..
Yeah, I’d assume the ones that generally bum people out, such as the Mantle of Funerals or somesuch. Or mayhaps the darker stuffs, where mere mortals dare not think… *cue ominous music*
@PiTABRED am I the only one on the internet who does’t see taxes as evil? Because it sure feels like it sometimes….
Are taxes evil? In and of themselves, no. Are excessive taxes levied unjustly, used irresponsibly, with the purpose or effect of enhancing the wealth, power, or status of a person or persons evil? Most definitely.
So is the current state of taxes evil? When the IRS specifically targets groups with certain political views with audits, is that unjust taxation? When taxes make it difficult for those who work to afford their homes and other needs, meanwhile paying for others to avoid working for years at a time, is that enhancing the wealth of individuals at others’ expense? Or when those tax dollars are spent on grossly overpriced projects with little to no oversight, many of which never yield the intended results with no consequence or accountability for those responsible for spending the funds or directing the projects, are the tax dollars being used responsibly or wisely?
I really wish that alt-text was true…

I don’t, because I’ve seen too many artists/writers burn themselves trying to keep up with too many spin-offs.
Well that and it was a joke. I’m not really doing an Elfwatch comic, everyone.
Not even as the odd filler strip?… Pweety pwease?
But the Elf prep and landing ABC specials are pretty awesome, I’d love to see Brian’s take on it.

I’d read Elfwatch, tell me it’s inspired by Dark Watch.
everytime i see your name, i can’t help but wonder… is it a reference to clavicus vile from the elder scrolls games?
What’s a grim-mantle?
Instead of the powers of Christmas, it gives you the powers of Tax Season or some crap like that. Just guessing though.
Probably any of the evil mantle-bearers, such as what Klaus would be if he won.
I thought it referred to the Brothers Grimm.

You tell me.
Elfwatch should crossover with Sluggy Freelance’s BlackOps Elves 😮
I…just…
Third last panel, that innocent motherly face saying “smoother than a playmates fake titties”.
I am floored.
She’s great, isn’t she?
Brett got.it somewhere and it wasn’t dad
Well, Brett had to get that language from somewhere…
Ooooh this could be awesome if it goes where I think it might.
