HOVER-TEXT: Damn right she is. She created Dead Iron. Brett plays and he has a 4th-level Beacon. Yes, that is an actual thing. Someday I may even make Dead Iron available for public consumption.
….And the reason that we haven’t seen a Dead Iron campaign is? We’ve already seen Karthun and the Innsmouth Garden Society look like, let’s have us a storyline devoted to a Dead Iron campaign.
no she is a RPG designer a child prodigy who released her fist system at 10 if i remember right which is WAY more impressive then making a video game esp now with prebuilt software
Not really. I mean, unless you’re talking about some shitty Unity-assets crap. Making a videogame requires just as much game design as a tabletop game, as well as a host of other skills. Using “prebuilt software” as a crutch isn’t going to get you any more respect than releasing an OGL supplement and calling it a “game”.
6 straight panels. Literally the only thing that changes on her is the eyes and the mouth. And it still tells the whole story of what’s going on in her mind and heart right then.
I’ve said it before Brian: I absolutely love the way you draw expressions.
I’ll be honest, I toyed with a LOT of panel layouts and changes of camera angle but in the end, I like the straight forward approach. I’m sure someone will be all “OMGHERD COPY/PASTE” but I’m okay with it.
I loved this. Her expression change. Panel 4! OMG-ponies! I really like the women in your comic – and I love Brett when he is reflecting the down-deep awesome of someone else who needs help. Just .. dang!
“So I walk up on high
And I step to the edge
To see my world below.
And I laugh at myself
While the tears roll down.
‘Cause it’s the world I know.
It’s the world I know.”
“Sure you’ve lost your publisher and your money and your home and your reputation, but chin up, sport! I believe in you!”
A wonderful sentiment, but it still doesn’t help fix a life that’s going down the toilet because of assholes like Dove. Dallas has a right to her anger and hurt, she’s lost a hell of a lot. Brett’s right about not pointing it at Sam, though.
Maybe Santa can help by kicking Dove in the jimmy.
Pointless Speculations about Dead Iron: a Trans-humanist Dark Fantasy
“After the Machine stripped the minds from most of humanity into itself to preserve them against the Cataclysm of the Dying Earth, some proved to strong or wild to contained in it’s synthetic paradise and escaped into the Code that now surround the dead world protecting the few unconverted human settlements for the Machine and it’s agents, and seeking revenge against the undesired conversion. While fighting the temptation to rejoin it’s Elysium.”

Dammit! Why do you have to tempt us with such things!?!?
Give it to us. We wants it. We needs it. Gives us the precious Dead Iron!

Wait, is Dallas a tabletop game designer? I thought she was a video game designer.

release Karthun first
she’s right though a mantle bear rpg could be bad ass throw in some Holiday wars and some rise of the guardians and you’d have something pretty sweet
(yes i know Karthun is comming out i’m a backer i meant once that’s physic out THEN start working on a dead iron release)
Dallas Noble is so awesome, SANTA believes in HER.
Darlene is so gosh dang awesome that Santa believes in her; that’s intense.
If you can’t believe in yourself, then believe in the Santa that believes in you.
Mine is the sleigh that shall pierce the heavens!
Just who the hell do you think we are.
Go beyond the impossible and kick reason to the curb! That’s how dice rolls!
(In my opinion, this redacted quote just summed up everything about tabletop RPGs.)
Brian you are a fucking incredible comic maker and human being. Keep it up.
Thanks!
Hey…have we told you how wonderful you are lately Brian?
That’s always nice to read! Thanks!
A truely touching comic. Thankyou

I was coming in here to comment on the effectiveness of simply watching the expressions play across her face too.
…by Santa Claus. That’s important.
In Soviet Russia, Santa believes in YOU!
When Santa fuckin’ Clause says he believes in YOU, that is some POWERFUL mojo right there.
That was… incredibly sweet, Brian. Good pep talk.
Dawwww big bad santa gets it right.
This is all Doves fault and he need a “Klaus” Treatment.
he’s probably getting a Krampus treatment, will that suffice?
Krampus and Brett probably take turns shitting in his stocking

Back to full health, I see.
Yay the cold war is end and Dallas can return to play with the gang.
You don’t have to belive it yourself. Just belive in Santa that belives in you.
“So I walk up on high
And I step to the edge
To see my world below.
And I laugh at myself

It’s the world I know.”
Seems appropriate. 🙂

Excellent, but perhaps to hurt Dove more transfer the contents of his bank and investment accounts to a swiss account into a young ladies life

Just noticed the Brett’s bleeding from the ears and nose. Dallas is just that bad ass.
It’s the little details, great work Brian.
“Santa Claus believes in you.” If that’s not a great big kick in the motivational pants I don’t know what is 😀
