Editing question…was Carlos preparing to say “call IT a night” when he got cut off or was he requesting reinforcements? 🙂
My interpretation is that Carlos is trying to call it a night but the players want to keep going.

After reading all the way from the beginning I am now here! Sadly, while this means I have caught up, I am now out of D20Monkey. I give a similar sentiment to everyone else in this comic.
Ok, given my love/hate/get-devoured-by relationship with mimics, I feel it’s necessary to grab that shirt.
i would like to know how Long they exactly played there so far. the world building and the battle can’t have taken more than 1 hour tops.
i know some Groups do such short session (course of work etc.) but usually Game sessions are longer,so i can understand there reaction 🙂

Okay, I love the touch that, as soon as he was done with the role-playing and GM’ing, Carlos’ stuttering came right back.
To paraphrase a Stephen King character, Carlos doesn’t stutter in his head.
This made me laugh. But I am worried that the group yelling no could trigger Carlos’ anxiety hope it turns out ok.

I… had this happen. Not the yelling but ran a ‘oneshot’ in this world I made up based on a 80s cartoon that never existed that came to me in a dream… Fantasy wild west with dinos (make any homebrew complaints you want. I will not be listening.) I had never gotten so into world building and the one shot wasn’t even over when one of the players (who usually just shows up and barely gets into games) was like “Can we play more in this world? I love this!” the other players started nodding and asking the same…. now I run it weekly and never been happier as a GM as my players leave my table with grins.
That cartoon sounds familiar, my dream-self may have watched it as a kid. (In most dreams I have a consistent identity living in a consistent world.)
