I love the news feed panel up top, that is pretty great.
Out of curiosity, does Carlos narrate and describe the banner messages at the bottom of the newsfeed, or is that just for his own personal headcannon/foreshadowing for us readers?
Director Condor looks somewhat miffed…
I wonder how the employment market is for ex-superheroes? 😮
Or maybe he’s more the “angry shouty captain in a maverick cop movie”.
“I sent you guys in to stop a bank raid, and you blew up an ENTIRE CITY BLOCK!!!”
“Yeah, but we got RESULTS, dammit!”
Ughhhh, the Andromeda arc is gonna end soon isn’t it?!?! This has been wonderful, and has shown me that my perceptions of super hero games were wrong – there is MASSIVE potential for excitement there. Thank you.
One minor nitpick – is the chyron in the first (AMAZING) panel supposed to read “declared last” or “declared lost”?
I think because it’s an upcoming mission it’s being declared last. I’m pretty sure this is supposed to be a scrolling headline and the final words of the sentence haven’t printed yet.
“Captain Elenore Phillips commenting on the upcoming expedition to Pluto declared last of the Persephone-series missions”, for example
I was just thinking that “declared lost” could be a set-up for another story… BP has done a good job leaving things open, so I probably read way too much into it.
Looks more like “declared last week” or last month or something like that.
So could be the setup for a next chapter. Some event that was publicised in advance and now the whole world will be watching…
Would be a shame if something… Went wrong! 😉
I’d have let Bronco talk to the Director myself.
Then checked the employment sites online

I wonder who was said eyewitness. Wasn’t the only ones present combatants?

I mean, there’s a new hole in the bad guy market…

Ohhh, that would make perfect sense.

I was getting the feeling “Captain Elenore Phillips” will be a prominent NPC in future adventures, myself.
I’m kind of curious if “Elenore Phillips” is an in-joke by the strip artist. That name ring any bells with anyone else? Not me.

Anyway, if an “upcoming mission” were declared lost, you are dealing with a very serious project management issue.
If only the big publishers were putting out comics this good, sigh
