I will go back in later on and put more background behind Professor Wonder but the possible sicks hit me and I just said, “Okay. This is finished for now.” which is a BIG step for me.
Look at it this way, with less background art, it allows us to focus on your brilliant character art, and their neat effects and equipment. Remember, sometimes less is indeed more.
As the old saying goes “Don’t kill the golden goose.”
It’s better to have a slow procession of these comics at a rate that Brian is comfortable and happy with, rather than a quick rate that is simply unsustainable and detrimental to his health.
Let’s see… Mechanically speaking, IIRC Fate let’s characters use an action to give other characters an advantage. Not sure if Disco Nova has sound amplification powers, or just likes to have a funky beat going, but there is going to be a hefty AOE attack coming, to clear the brawl.
You know… Knowing Brett, I could totally see him doing that.
“Character Concept: Dazzler, but actually effective in combat. And with a funky ’70s vibe.”
Actually, once Alison had training from the X-Men, she was very competent in battle. Also, her whole schtick was the ‘Disco Dazzler’. One time, she was even supercharged by Galactus to go after Terrax. He used unimaginable sounds, including an exploding galaxy to get her up to snuff (she was venturing into a black hole).
This is something I think a lot of people tend to forget about Brett. He is actually really good at games but his personality gets in the way some of the time. He would ABSOLUTELY have that kind of thought process, plus, he has been evolving a little over the years and I wanted him to try something a little out of his comfort zone. Let’s see how it goes…
I once helped to design and craft a Cosplay for Demi from Phantasy Star 4, who uses a Sonic Weapon that comes out from her shoulders/breasts. I’m really sad it was never worn… it was totally designed as a speaker system for shit like this.
I absolutely love the way you’re doing this story. Instead of usual super hero ’20 minutes of how they discovered their powers and how they work’, you’re just jumping right into the fun part and showing us instead of telling us. Keep up the great work!
HOVER-TEXT: Of course it’s Stayin’ Alive, guys. Of course it is.
Awww….it isn’t “Another One Bites The Dust”?
Or “Everybody was Kung Fu Fighting”?
“This Means War” by Nickelback? (Alternate: “Burn It to the Ground”)
Guys, it is a Playlist. It could have all those songs and more.
Okay, it’s a playlist. Anyone got more suggestions?
Help is on the way – Rise against
Let me check my playlists….I’ve got “The Touch” from the Transformer’s Movie (animated).
“Not my Time” by three doors down ?
Or “Don’t Stop Me Now?†Wait wait, what about, “Under Pressure?†;3
And of course, Sam has this playlist on his phone, and is blasting it at the table right now.
You, Sir, win all of the cookies!
So many great things here- the hair on both characters, the shield effects, and the speakers instead of mini missiles on Maxwell
I’m excited to learn more about how the team works together. Awesome.

Good. Take care of you. We only get one!

No rush! Your health is always important, and I think this one is great already 🙂

My favourite maxim on the matter is: “Good enough is good enough.”
I prefer the saying “It’s not just good, but Good Enough!”
Amazing art and pacing as always Brian!
Why don’t I have one of those?!?
my first thought was KISS i was made for loving you
I feel like “Funky Town” would also work here. Maybe disco inferno gives him fire powers? Possibilities are endless
The Pseudo Echo version would be better.

It’s worth noting that Stayin’ Alive and Another One Bites the Dust use the same beat…
And that both of them can be used as a model for performing CPR. 🙂
So can Highway to Hell. But you shouldn’t sing that one aloud while doing it…
Well, that’s one more mental image that is hilarious disturbing in my head.
I TOLD you all it was a Dance-party Rave!
Does Disco Nova have Dazzler’s powers or something different?
You know… Knowing Brett, I could totally see him doing that.

Sound to kinetic energy, at a guess.
