A Sign of Things to Come
Chapter: Comics, Season Five
Gather around children because the Dungeon Run is here.
I have made passing references to the Dungeon Run for a long time and now it is time to see what’s what. The most recent reference came when Phillip Dove visited the Dragon’s Den with his cousin Grey to pre-register.  That turned into a bit of a… thing.
This should be a fun arc. Heeeee heeeeee heeeeee.
This seems like it’s going to be a fun arc. >:3
new style for the heads? Interesting.
I think it’s more the angle than the style.
Yeah that’s what I’m assuming. Low PoV looking up at them.
Stoked for this story 😀
I dunno, I think Sam’s neck looks a bit..narrower? Maybe it’s a more prominent adam’s apple that’s throwing me. I wish I could figure out what it is because it’s bugging me to not be able to place what seems different.
was going back through previous comics, his characters are almost never seen straight on… maybe that could be why.
I don’t see any style changes. Just a full frontal shot of Sam. Which we don’t really see a lot of so there’s no point of reference. Everything looks the same….just a new angle.
Sam’s face is longer, and he seems to have lost his chin.
And I’ll be honest–I don’t like it. Pops looks badder, I grant your, but I don’t see how you can keep Sam’s gesture set with a weak chin. It would be unconvincing.
Well I have some potentially bad news for you: It happened. It’ll probably happen again.
*shrug* I’m on record as being a vocal fan of this comic, and I don’t see that changing. I’m sure I’ll get used to it.
Indeed you are. Blanche, be a dear a read back the notes from the last meeting…
(and thanks for understanding that things evolve over time while I try new angles, etc.)
Ack. Got cut off.
(continued) I’m not going to stop being a fan over an evolving character design.

Can’t wait!
Alright, question time: is this Dungeon Run the same as the real-life tabletop game, or is it some kind of actual physical marathon/race-type thing? If it’s the latter, I don’t know how the hell Phil thought he would “surely emerge victorious” unless he planned on using Grey as a proxy. I’m not one to judge appearances, but it looks like the most exercise Phil gets is running his smug fool mouth.
I think Phil believes it’ll just involve the table, but is bringing Grey for a grunt to aid with the demanding task of fetching his 2 gallon jug of diet coke.
I’m just a ray of sunshine with Phil apparently.
Okay the mouse over text I got confused because it’s too damn early.
“Does a giant teabag water towers?” is “Does a noun verb adjective verb?”
I read it as “Does a adjective noun verb noun?” And for some reason imagined a giant teabag with a watering can trying to make old medival towers grow like they were plants.
I love your interpretation and now I’m having a hard time imagining the alternative xD
Well damn… it took me long enough but I’ve caught up! So this has broken my webcomic cherry, and I can’t think of a better place for it to happen! I’ve come to know some of you by the comments you’ve left and conversations you had. I’m happy to finally be up with everyone else and able to leave my first comment. Brian you are amazing, that is all. for now….
